I have been noting since 5/16 his follower growth on Spotify. For the first twenty days he consistently added 300 to to about 350 followers a day with the average being 325. Suddenly for the last 6 days he has been picking up about 100 more new followers ranging from 425 to 450. I am hoping this is another indication that he is reaching new fans. there is a similar increase in Twitter followers... the last week it is in the 420-550/day range up from 300-400/day...it is still very, very low imo, I'd like to see 2-5K/day, but we'll get there... |

I'm trying not to get my hopes up for #1 and be pleasantly surprised if it happens. The numbers to pass James Taylor just don't seem to be there on either Amazon or iTunes. I think Swift might beat him as well. If a high debut doesn't happen I hope the quality of the album will give it longevity. That's important in the long run. |

But Swift is not debuting this week is she? Even though she is not debuting she is still high on iTunes, Amazon etc. Plus she pulls in huge streaming numbers. |

I personally am not up to trying to make any predictions on sales numbers for Adam. I will hope for the best but I know that, except for a few like Taylor Swift, album sales are way, way down. Even Kelly Clarkson's album sales have been much lower then in the past but she still gets loyal fans at her concerts and I'm sure that Adam will too. |

I personally am not up to trying to make any predictions on sales numbers for Adam. Yes, I see. It is not just the other debut albums TOH is up against, it is the ones already established at the top. Kind of like how he dodged the bullet with Trespassing debuting when Adele's numbers started to fall. This time may not be as lucky. But I am hoping for the best - a really good showing for the debut, a single in the top 20's and ongoing critical acclaim. Just needs enough to mount a tour. |
