So this year the After Elton top 100 is open to everyone. You can enter 10 different names, but only vote one time (if you vote more than once, it only logs your last vote). www.afterelton.com/people/2011-hot-100-votingThere is interesting discussion of what makes someone hot, plus lots of yummy suggestions in the comments sections. I voted for Adam and Sutan, but also Jason Momoa, Chris Colfer, Alexander Skarsgard, Matthew Mitchem, Matt Bomer, Yigit Pura,.....and.....I can't remember who else. It's nice that they opened up the vote to everyone this year. I submitted Adam's name, of course, and I also submitted Brad "Cheeks" Bell and Sauli Koskinen. Hey, why not? Both straight and gay men are allowed to be submitted, so I picked Johnny Depp, Bradley Cooper, Paul Rudd, Jake Gyllenhaal, Dan Savage, Jake Shears, and Eric Sheffer Stevens (he played Dr. Reid Oliver on As the World Turns). I had to go through last year's list for ideas because I'm so obsessed with Adam that I couldn't remember who else I found sexy!

It's strange that they opened it up for everyone, when it seems like last time around there was a lot of discussion about how it must have been invaded by fangirls and the regular users of the site didn't like that. So I dunno, it makes me feel weird, because I'm pretty sure the main viewership of the site doesn't care what us straight girls think and wishes we would leave their site alone. I think I'm gonna abstain from this one.

Adam + Indigo Girls? Is this real? ETA: I am going to set up a special thread so that we can post an E-card of thoughts for Bamafan and her family. That way it will be here to surprise her! I will post link shortly. Thanks for doing this Q3!

I felt intrusive. :-/

There have been some leaks from Kelly's album and I think they sound really, really good. I was hoping for a better single from David Cook. He has to be a little bit worried, right now, especially after Archie's total fail on #2. I agree -- positive buzz for Kelly right now. Cook not so much. I think Cook has a better shot of selling albums than singles -- but so far, it looks like he has an uphill battle. He is not getting a lot of media buzz but his album doesn't release until June 28, 2011. So they still have 7 weeks. I hope/expect that there is much more buzz and support for Adam's lead single. But it is really, really tough out there -- even Gaga is struggling a bit, Rhianna's latest single is getting meh response, Britney is doing OK on the radio but album sales were disappointing. NOTE: I for one, am tired of formulaic pop songs with manufactured synth music and mod vocals ruling the airwaves. I am happy that some singers are making it on the airwaves.I am OK with word art -- if the words are art and the lyrics mean something. But seriously what happened to the Lady Gaga who wrote Poker Face? -- clever lyrics, an inventive hook and a really fun song. And I have to chuckle that Ke$ha (who was supposed to be gone and dead by now) has a solo song on the Billboard Hot 100 Top 10 and is featured on Britney's song that is sitting at #3. Gaga who was expected to rule radio right now has a second single that peaked at #10 and is headed down the chart (Judas) and a lead album single that hit #1 but burned out fast and is down to #11. While "everyone" was crowning Gaga queen of pop -- Katy Perry seems to have taken the crown. (Yes, ET is a totally forgettable song but "Firework" will be around for a long time.) And the singers have returned to radio! Adele, Cee Lo Green, Bruno Mars and Tinie Tempah/Eric Turner have proven that if you have a really good song and sing it, you can have a hit -- no studio gimmicks required. And I am pleased and astounded that Adele's "Rolling In The Deep" has a shot of being the #1 song in the US. (Currently #2). This trend is very, very good for Adam. Hope he (and RCA) listen to Adele's song 10,000 times and remember it is OK for Adam to sing on a single.

On the AfterElton poll -- I am a regular visitor to AfterElton and I have never vote before because they request that I did not vote. But this time they invited everyone to vote. They even tweeted it.
If my hits can help support this site, I say fine. They write great stuff and often entertain me with their wit and snarky but not mean style.
The poll is not who is the hottest gay man to gay men -- it is just who is the hottest gay man. I think that makes it explicitly inclusive for me to vote on the gay man I think is hot.

Just saw something amazing and somewhat sad today on MJs -- today is the first day in over 6-1/2 years that no Idol had a song on the HAC AT40 countdown. Hard to imagine that a couple years ago when the HAC AT40 was packed with Kelly, Daughtry, Adam, Kris and Jordin music. And it could be that way for a while -- until Kelly's single is released and (hopefully) Adam's lead single in a massive hit. AI9 was a bust when it comes to radio airplay and AI10 may not be much better for non-Country radio. (I think Scotty will have Country hits.) I think Kelly is the best bet to get meaningful airplay on HAC right now. Not sure what will happen with David Cook's single. Adam will get airplay if he puts out a decent single because there are many HAC-leaning Top 40 and HAC stations just waiting for something new and radio worthy from him. And if it catches fire, he has a shot of surpassing WWFM. (I want him to release a massive pop hit that even KIIS-FM LA wants to play -- a hot, dance pop song that rips up the radio chart.) There have been some leaks from Kelly's album and I think they sound really, really good. I was hoping for a better single from David Cook. He has to be a little bit worried, right now, especially after Archie's total fail on #2. When does that album come out?

I scrolled through the AfterElton comments to see who was turning up and now I know why the editors requested, "But as you consider your top ten hotties, we would encourage you to keep in mind that all kinds of men are hot, not just white guys under the age of thirty!" because I have never seen so many partially clothed buff bodies in my whole life. I have decided that regardless of orientation, men still are pretty hung up on young and ripped. The equivalent list of female hotties for hetero men would look about the same, minus a penis and plus two boobs. If I decide to vote I will first give some thought to substance and intelligence, but include one hot body for cred and of course list Adam as number 1.

There is no official release date for Kelly's new album -- but it is expected late summer now.
Cook's is out June 28, 2011.
Adam's is expected in November with a single in late summer -- September makes sense to me.
That would space the three of them nicely.
The only other major Idol-related releases are the AI10 albums and they have little to do with Adam and the AI10 winner is almost certain to be Scotty with a Country album -- not Adam's market. (Although I would buy an Adam Lambert covers Roy Orbison album in a minute!)
