This is a serious question -- what track on this album actually sounds like something that is on US Pop radio? I can't find one. I am far from being a specialist in the area, but here is how I feel: From all the songs on the album, the only one where I am inclined to press Skip after about half of it is Underground, and for me it is the closest thing to typical RnB / pop. I am not saying it is, I am just saying relatively speaking. At some point it becomes too repetitive for my taste (I had the same problem with Kickin' In back in the day). Now that we have the credits list, I can kinda see why. Apropos credits, it isn't an accident (pun intended) that After Hours feels like the cousin of TOH with its driving rhythm, as both were co-written with Axident. Today I read Adam mentioning in an interview that he brought TOH "and a few others" to MM&S. I guess AH was one of them (and I love it!).

graciejane wrote: surprised at the writing credits on Shame & These Boys - they sound so Adam. ***** Maybe Adam will have to spend time back in California or in Sweden during the summer to write such happy tunes. Do you think winter in the dark and cold affected his frame of mind for this album? BTW I LOVE the album. Who else could make you so happy and dancy with some of the lyrics he has written and sung?

Re the Gigwise interview: one of his most open discussions. I do believe he really is doing what he wants, but this statement kinda broke my heart:
How he had to get used to the highs and lows of playing with Queen
"As an artist and personally I'm never quite satisfied. I feel like I'm always hungry for the next experience. I wonder: I ask myself the question 'When is it enough? When will I be satisfied with everything?" It's something you've got to remind yourself to be thankful along the way. It's definitely easy not to be. The highs I do experience - being on stage at the sold out O2 is like 'GAH! OHMYGODITSFUCKINGAWESOME' And then to come down and go to bed by myself that night. I've just had this crazy high and now I have to bring it back down and fall asleep alone in bed. Extremes, for sure."

He was asked (paraphrasing) what would he think when in later years he looks back on his life. His response 'was it all worth it?'

I think Adam is just being a "grown ass man". I attribute many of his comments to maturity. Seems like once he reached his thirties and had some professional success, he learned many life lessons and his comments reflect that. For example, there is always a "cost" to everything. His career success, has curtailed so much of his personal time that his personal life has been put on the back burner. I think most people get a bit reflective at some point in their thirties.

He's experiencing,IMO, the rewards and the negatives of what that entails. It seems to me, he wants to be in a meaningful relationship, but it's not possible right now because he is so focused on his career. I think he understands he will be lonely but right now it's all about success with his music.

One of my dearest friends, who I've taken to see Adam for GlamNation and also to see QAL streamed the album when I put the link on FB, she said this is far and away his best album. And GT is her favorite song. She likes Adam fine but isn't a "fan". She offered this opinion with no prompting. I like hearing that others think this is his best work to date.
