That's what I was trying to say, some people will pass on Adam and the album just because two of the songs contain fuck, when really there is nothing explicit about anything else in the album. I just wish he would leave the fucks out, I think he would sell more albums. No worries. It never hurt Eminem, Pink, or Fun. (They all have used that word in some of their songs on their albums) Have you been to a high school lately. OR watched HBO. It's all good. Yeah.......ask Maroon 5 how much that Explicit sticker on the front of their current album has hurt sales, or their current single that is all over the radio with the title 'This Summer's Gonna Hurt Like a Motherfucker'. I just checked iTunes here in Canada and 10 of the current top 50 albums are explicit. The clean version of TOH isn't charting here, but the explicit version is holding steady at 5. I'm not saying that people shouldn't have the choice, but an explicit sticker will not hurt sales in any meaningful way at all. If people want to buy the album, they will buy the album.

It's great to see Ghost Town holding firm at around #35 on UK iTunes---and that's without any real radio support (so far). Pretty impressive. But can someone remind me: what was the rationale behind delaying GT's release as a single in the UK until the end of July? It makes no sense to me! It has not been explained but I believe is that they will wait until GT is stronger in the US market and then try again. Shoshanna referred to a July "focus" date which is the same as a US radio impact date. Thanks for your take on that, Q3. It does make sense now, especially since it seems increasingly likely that GT will be stronger---perhaps at its peak---in the US in July. It's interesting to see the song taking off in certain parts of the world---Australia, for example (though curiously, not yet in NZ), Eastern & Northern Europe and South Africa---but being a slow burner in other big markets. Can that really all be down to radio exposure?

Same in the US -- the Explicit Deluxe Album is the big seller.

I just wish he would leave the fucks out, I think he would sell more albums. Your probably right but if Adam did leave the word out...he wouldn't be true to himself and how he wants to express himself, which as he has told us, is very important to him. In as much as he already did leave it out in the 'clean' versions being true to himself really isn't the issue. Marketing already acknowledges that not everyone wants to have an explicit album, that is why two versions are offered.

I go with explicit. Adam says what he says. And what he says is 'fuck'. What he means to say is 'fuck'. And I'm okay with that. I'm loving that. All that aside. I raised my little boys (momtomany really does mean it) and whether they heard 'damn' or 'fuck', it didn't become the stuff that defined them or shocked them or made them or grew them into really wonderful people. Was never the words. Was always 'the things I didn't say'. Bringing it back to Adam! Hopefully, bringing it back to you, too. I'm fine with the explicit version, all I'm saying is there will people that will pass on the cd because it is explicit and I thought the idea was to sell as many cd's as possible. I don't see how fuck makes the song any better, that's all. I would love to play TOH for my nieces, they love to sing along to Adam, but my sister would have a royal fit if I played the explicit version. You can order the clean version from Walmart at; www.walmart.com/search/?query=music%20cds&cat_id=4104_4115_5096_1058584&facet=new_releases:Last%207%20Days That's all my Walmart has, they have "edited" on them.

Explicit one selling here the most too. TOH on Itunes #12 overall. And Google Play #9 overall. So I don't think curse words effect sales at all, quite the contrary.
