Thrilled to announce that The Original High is debuting on NZ top 40 album chart at #6! Not too shabby, considering radio has given up playing Ghost Town. (got some airplay when first released, but nothing for weeks now) Still I am VERY happy with this!!! TOP TEN IS GOOD!!!!!! nztop40.co.nz/chart/albumsHi: I'm a New Zealander living in South Korea, so I wasn't aware that NZ Radio had basically stopped playing Ghost Town. I can't believe it didn't take fire there, especially since NZ has previously embraced singles by Adam (such as Fever) that didn't chart elsewhere. Even NCOE charted respectably in NZ. Australian Radio must be playing GT, though, as it's consistently been at either #16 or #17 on iTunes for ages now, and has continued to rise up the official Aussie chart. I'm puzzled that a song that is popular in Australia hasn't caught on in NZ, as the two countries' tastes in music and artists have always seemed so similar. In fact, I would have put money on GT being exactly the kind of song that would appeal to New Zealanders, so let's hope Radio gives it a second chance! In the meantime, I'm very happy that the album charted at #6---now we just have to keep it in the Top 40  ( Trespassing, which debuted in NZ at #4, survived for eleven weeks in the NZ charts, I recall.) |

Yes airplay sucks. But it is constantly getting play on tv the MV. It was #13 on MTV Pop 20 last night. #6 is awesome, I was hoping for a nearly top 5 so I am happy about that. Now it well continue to rise, with airplay. Unfortunately that doesen't seem to be happening, not sure why. It is currently #25 on Itunes NZ Pop Chart. |
