That's my vague memory too. I laughed at his response.

Just heard GhostTown on Seattle station Click 98.9. This only the second time I have heard it on the radio while driving.

twitter.com/aprilmarie816/status/625322569294573568NEW YORK - When it comes to spanning the generational divide among music fans, Adam Lambert may have figured it all out: Write catchy, hook-laden pop and dance tracks for the kids and sell pricey concert tickets for one of the all-time classic rock bands to their parents. TODAY'S SPONSOR: Fresh off a wildly successful world tour fronting Queen, Lambert is back with his third studio album, "The Original High," released June 12. Its mix of dance club, pop and emotional ballads couldn't be more different from the music he's been performing for the past two years. "I have a lot of different people that listen to my music, and it's important to me to kind of bring as many people together as I can," Lambert, 33, said in a recent interview. "Now, six years into this part of my career, I think I know myself better. I think I have a stronger idea of my artistic identity and who my fans are." "Working with Queen was definitely a balancing act of trying to honor the original recordings as much as I possibly could while still injecting myself into them," he added. "With this project, it's my name on the project." . . . . . . . more

I hear the lisp but I do not believe he had a tongue piercing at that time -- or ever. Yeah, he doesn't appear to have one there, from what I can see when he belts out the tune, but why the lisp then...? It's fairly prominent. Dentist work? I always thought he was just joking around because it is only on this song -- not the rest of the performance.

graciejane - thanks for linking this article. It is basically saying, if I'm reading it correctly, that there are now companies whose main job is getting songs "dropped" into the right playlists. If this has been done with GT, it may be that the timing also coincides with everything else to give it a big bump. Like bamafan, I would love to know all the ins and outs of this promo. And it would be interesting to know how many playlists GT is on, and whether it's been an organic sort of thing, or if most have been strategically placed by Adam's "team." He's been on quite a few of the Spotify lists, both automatically generated and a few curated. The biggest ones that his label is responsible for is all the Topsify lists and there are a lot of them. How did Warner get him on Topsify? They own the brand. But the playlists are for streaming and don't explain the iTunes buying (btw he's just had his first drop on the pop bars percent but otherwise GT is the only song across the board that has had green positive numbers I think for over 48 hours (or is it longer?) now.) It has now plateaued at #46 -- and moved into the light pink. But yes, it was the only song steadily increasing pop bars/sales on iTunes for the past 2 days. ETA: Just moved up to #43.

Just a little story here. I went to a Chinese takeout this evening and as I pulled up Ghost Town came on the radio. For me that was the first time I'd heard it on Z104FM, our top 40 station. Then, to top that off, the lady at the window said "nice music". I said yes, that's Adam Lambert! Then she said, oh, he is very good, I like him. Of course I said me too! Not much of a story but I like it!!!!
