What I really miss is there is no equivalent of a "Soaked" where everyone who hears it, especially live, is blown away. I missed from the Trespassing era and this era. I remember that was the one song (Knoxville version) I would show to people to really show them what he can do. I recall reviews of people who witnessed that song live (not Adam fans) who called it operatic and then "got" what people saw in him. I remember my sister saying that Adam should just sing something like that on American Idol or other show with a large audience and that would really blow people away and gain him respect. Unfortunately, those type of songs are usually not singles, which he typically promotes on those shows. Music is a matter of taste. I was at that Knoxville concert and Soaked was wonderful there. But I think TISI is the most beautiful Adam solo vocal I have even heard live. IMO TISI is also a better song IMO than Soaked. I think that Queen's WWTLF and SM are much better vocal showcases for him vs. "Soaked". But truly I want to hear him sing whatever he wants. I guess I am just one of those few people who is not blown away by TISI. It is a good song, just never blew me away. It's not even one of my favorites this era. I heard it live at Morongo, and it still didn't change my mind. I agree Queen's WWTLF and SM are better vocal showcases than Soaked, but those just aren't songs that he would be singing to support an album. If he sang one of those at American Idol, people would be impressed but he probably would get criticism that he's a cover artist. |

I stay away from hypotheticals but this "what if" seems like it would have a clear outcome. If Adam sang WWTLF on American Idol, he would have gotten him a standing ovation -- he would get no criticism. Just like he silenced the entire MGM Grand arena when he performed it in 2013. |

Do we have this interview? It was done when GT was released and is really good. WAs just put up on Youtube today....It's a must watch! The interviewer is really good. That is the best interview ever. Like sitting around the kitchen table chatting with your best friend. ITA, I loved just watching him talk so much in depth about his thought process. He is just endlessly fascinating to me and I never tire of listening to him speak. So intelligent and well-spoken. |
