I decided not to listen to the entire concert because of the amount of reverb. It was way too much for me. In my experience, a venue is never more reverby (is that a word?) with people in it. People absorb sound and keep it from bouncing off the walls as much an empty space. Acousticians even try to design concert hall seats that will absorb sound close to the same way that people do, so sound levels are not so different from rehearsal to performance. Was there "too much" reverb or just crappy YTs? I didn't watch very many because I couldn't find many good ones. I did watch Catzamadam's recorded stream twice though. She was in the balcony and I thought the sound was perfect! I didn't watch Catzmadam's stream. Maybe I'll try it. I tried a few YTs. I've watch a lot of crappy Adam YTs over the years, but don't think that was the problem in this case. The reverb was just too much.

SMH, don't read more into the use of a single word than is really there. Keep it in context with a totally positive article, every comment glowing. Eccentric? Adam is eccentric, as an artist and as an individual he is unique, unconventional, sometimes outlandish, and he will even tell you he is a bit of a freak. Nothing insulting about any of those characteristics. I wasn't reading anything into it or taking it as a negative. It just struck me as an odd phrase.

REVERB: I know Adam insists on reverb when he performs and normally it's just a nice blending of sound but at the Auckland show there seemed to be too much making it hard to hear the words on some songs. Is that something Adam decides or is that the shape of the room and remixing is more difficult in some venues. I especially didn't like it on TOH or IIHY...or is it a tool Adam uses when his voice is tired? This is a problem with the recordings that are made close to the stage and speakers -- not the rest of the venue. The microphones in phone are not designed for the decibel level of these concerts and the problem is most acute up front where the audio is the loudest.
