The offside rule in football became a big thing, when it was established that at least 50/60% of men didn't understand the offside rule. So they would say to women, 'Ah, it's too difficult for you to understand...' etc. When really they just didn't understand it enough to explain it. And even referrees were being critisised for not implementing it. So it became such a main stream thing, that it became a common question to ask actors and singers, etc......It seems to be an English thing, as my bf is Italian and mad about football and has never mentioned it in 14 years! simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/Offside_rule (really, who give s a f...) |
