Burning Man Update:
Rumor was Daft Punk was performing at the Dust Perimeter Fence at midnight on Friday. Never made it out there; can't confirm it ever really happened, because I just HAD to sleep! But, if it had been AFL . . . Yeah - - a group of segway riders came down avenue 9 (a very main thoroughfare) to the Playa - from the 'turnkey' camps at avenue 'K', past the emergency med station where I volunteered, each day. The photo of Katy Perry is from the Playa, tho - not the avenue leading there. Can you see how she's clothed? In a way virtually everyone is clothed in a dust storm? She blends right in! Just like Adam blended right in with Sauli! Know I saw AFL & Sauli bicycling in from the Playa early one morning at sunrise (golly - was it 2011 or 2012?) . . . but this year, I can't say I 'saw' Katy or Susan Sarandon (carrying the ashes of Timothy Leary to the Temple) . . . the co-mingling with costumed, fabulous souls of every persuasion took place all hours of every day; and, what happened was the sharing of stories and hugs and excitement . . . without the 'default' world's need of names or places or positions. It's just not a place where names are dropped. Everyone has a story to tell and some sort of costume or necklace or scarf or bracelet, or, some other, unique piece of themselves to share. To give away. Each person is anonymously beautiful.
Just arrived back 'home'; having left 'home', full of dust, after 12 days on the Playa. One shower. Dust storms like I've never seen. Works of art on the Playa that took my dusty breath away. Sunsets & sunrises that left me weeping over this sky and this life and its possibilities. I've been tested. And it was the most amazing test I've ever taken.
It will take me awhile to catch up on Adamtopia. In advance, my thanks and love to all of you! Your devotion is mine as well. Even far, far away, Adam - and his success, and his future, and his life - lend color and flavor to mine. His journey keeps me on this roller-coaster. I just stepped off for a quick trip to the Universe. I've come back, bringing locked-heart loyalty and profound belief in this man who captured my senses six years ago.
Time to wash off the dust and absorb the memories and the desires.
XO

I will never understand the need to make negative comments about Adam's contemporaries. For me it just sends out all kinds of bad karma. Adam is so full of positive energy I wish his fans had even a tenth of it. JMHO. You guys do what you would like but I think I will go find some positive energy. See ya tomorrow Everyone is entitled to their own opinions and I got the feeling the people making comments about Sam Smith were half teasing. Just because you disagree with what you thought were negative comments doesn't give you the right to scold others. Well technically I can scold others because I am a moderator on this forum I wasn't speaking as a mod though, just a member. I do my best to not be heavy handed around here. That said, there is often snarky comments made about other artists. It usually happens when another artist gets something that Adam doesn't. I just think that's rather sad. Anyway, I didn't mean to piss people off. I will go back to keeping my mouth shut. Scroll, scroll etc.

Tinafea ....Was thinking kind of the same thing as you were....so you are by no means alone. Pls, go to bed happy and confident. Not worth it. The way I see it, they (007 movie producers) made a safe choice, not an artistic one. SS won (last year) in gazillion competitions, and therefore he is the non-controversial pick. Adam would have been much less safe. Adam's star is rising, the label is supporting him wonderfully, he will get to such a place eventually, but right now, especially in the UK, he is much smaller than SS. Things are going to turn around for him, we just need to be patient enough. We may find the choice of SS musically not justified, politically, it is understandable. Now a QAL ticket, may have had a chance. We will never know, whether it was ever considered. Adam has many wonderful things happening for him right now, I am not going to cry about the one that got away.
