I don't know if you noticed, Adam's whosay account has been updated the last 2-3 weeks, I dont remember exactly, and now it has not only his twitter account there, but also some links to his merchandise, charity water, donorschoose etc., and also some links from other people's merch. I loved the stuff from AD2013 they're selling there. It also has a link to his friend Puja jewelry and Skingraft. So does anybody know how this thing works? Does Adam get some benefit from this? I dont see it like he's promoting without having some benefit. I guess it's up to him how much he wants to use it to promote his own work or merch. I really like that he has his 3 charities there. I imagine he could get some money to advertise other companies products but it looks like he's just promoting his friends designs. AD2013 includes his friends Roxy and Elijah (the guy that went to the Prince concert w/ him) and it is a cool site. I don't know anything though, I'm just talking out of my ass. Anybody else know? I was curious about the copyrighting of his pictures. It's great that he has control, but what if he WANTS to cause a ruckus like with his hair shave tweet that went everywhere. Would blogs/news sites not bother if they have to get permission or buy the right to post the picture. Would Adam have the option to put out a freebie if he wants a picture to make the rounds? Perez posted the tattoo pic yesterday (he was nice). Did he call and get permission or pay for it? ETA: HI BAMAFAN!!!!!!!!! WELCOME BACK!!!! |

Since Michael Orland tweeted this performance, of course I rewatched it. I just love the looks on Kara's and Paula's faces while they are waiting to talk. It's sort of a stunned, overwhelmed, can't-believe-I-just-experienced-that face. I keep liking to think that Steven Tyler's blank look after Adam sang on AI was that face (probably just out of it though  ). I know; Paula's hands were actually trembling. That's so sweet what Michael Orland said about people in the industry knowing how appreciative he is. A few thoughts ... I am no radio expert, but these are just GUT feelings based on observations, discussions here and on Twitter and what SEEMS to be happening with a lot of the "guaranteed" hit makers. Of course, all this depends on what Adam creates, but I have tremendous respect for his knowledge of music, the industry and what is marketable. And of course, that he can sing the phone book and I love it. I REALLY hope any two-tiered backlash of Idol and radio homophobia will have dissipated quite a bit by the time Adam2 drops. I think with the changes in the world, people will be evaluating any previous prejudices they might have had and realize that they were pretty dang lame. I also think some of the cold shoulder he received was about "putting an Idol in his place" kind of thing. I hope they figure they've done that and he's earned a right to be judged on his own merits for Adam2. (In other words, I hope they come to believe he's been punished enough and he's never been anything but positive and supportive towards radio, when they haven't returned in kind.) I think it's very telling how Adele is KILLING while Gaga, Britney and Beyonce are not steamrolling (and even struggling). Is there a specific shift to substance over flash? Is it lack of quality? With Beyonce I definitely think so. Apparently they had 72 tracks recorded and they go with "Run the World (Girls)"? That song is a complete WTF. If Adam comes back not all glitter and glam, but authentic, catchy with a rock/funky edge; I really believe the timing will be perfect. Of course, he still has his ability to charm, give great interview, do whatever PDs need or require of him and make great television. And a well-chosen collaboration would be great too.
