"I'm not scared" = WTF? who is this guy? for me. "Mama" = go online and find everything by this singer I could get my hands on. Adam intro: "I've been singing since I was ten. My parents put me in musical theater" accompanied by pics of him as a kid onstage. Maybe Peter Pan and Fiddler? Hmmm. Guy could be good. Course, lots of kids get involved in school or community theater. He could be full of himself. Adam walks into the audition room and stands on his mark: Hmmm. Calm, cool, confident but not cocky or corny, very professional. Good posture --- just could a singer. He's been in the cast of Wicked. Local amateur production, maybe? For the past year and a half. Oh, professional production company, then. Okay, the guy must have 1) a good voice, 2) professional experience. Adam sings: Yup, Q3, all it took was "Mama." Who IS this guy? By the end of that 20 second snippet, I knew this guy was extraordinary. In a different league. I was hooked to Idol for as long as he was on. Little did I know, that was only the beginning of this glorious journey of discovery and pleasure. |
