Translated from Portuguese by Bing Wrong translation? Adam Lambert goes through trial by fire in concert with the Queen in SP glo.bo/1Kiwmul
09/17/2015 3:20 a.m. - Updated 9/17/2015 3:32 a.m. Adam Lambert passes acid test in concert with the Queen in SP
Attraction of the Rock in Rio, the band began touring Brazil with sold-out show. Performative replaces vocalist Freddie Mercury in the new formation.
Who was already queen never lose majesty. In a show of 2:20 a.m., the Queen opened late on Wednesday (16), in São Paulo, his tour in Brazil, including a highly anticipated show at Rock in Rio, 30 years after one of the most remarkable performances in the history of festival. Adam Lambert this time on vocals, guitarist Brian May and drummer Roger Taylor showed in the Ibirapuera Gymnasium the iconic British group aged only by white hair, but not the sound. Here's how was the show, which had sold out.
Distrust of the party's presentation Queen + Adam Lambert can be divided into two stages: the initial ten minutes of distrust to hear the former "American Idol" on vocals, and the next two hours, nostalgia and celebration. With the impossible task of being in a place once was Freddie Mercury (1946-1991), Lambert shows personality and does not ugly. Comparisons are of course inevitable, but who decided to move the show paying attention to this lost time, as has happened in the group stage with Paul Rodgers and his voice torn a few years ago.

Mercury is unmatched, period. Lambert is clearly inspired by the singer for the construction of its theatrical image, but alone. Despite having one of the most powerful voices of the current pop scene, and show it on "Somebody to love" and "Who want`s to live forever," the 33-year-old singer is far from reaching the vibrato and Mercury reaches (search by "Queen + blues rock in rio" on YouTube to understand better) and does not seek to copy the idol (curiously, he came in and said goodbye to "American Idol" singing Queen songs).
"Surprise of the evening was the presence of` Ghost town`, Lambert, in the repertoire "And just to have this awareness that Lambert does well its role, while peacock print your side" I want to break free ", in which sings a sofa, and in all more than five costumes that displays throughout the presentation - including around several high heels, a golden microphone and a diamond crown (here a clear reference to Mercury, which appeared well and wrapped in a flag after bis).
But he fails to steal the spotlight, since most of the palms are often directed to the remaining pair, which shows still have the hots for the stage and generosity to promote the solo work of Lambert: the surprise of the night was the presence of hit dance "Ghost town", Lambert, in the repertoire.
Double inspired Queen + Adam Lambert is a great tribute to what was once one of the biggest rock bands in the world. It's almost a cover with two of the four original members, hence the grace of seeing a super show produced whose repertoire is the same as 30 years ago - check out the entire set list at the end of text.
At 68, Brian May continues in its role as "guitar hero" in long solos and a surprisingly good shape and disposition over 120 minutes. At one point, he pulled out a wooden selfie and had fun filming the public.
At 66, Roger Taylor no longer has the same breath, but wins in charisma and has the Son help Rufus on percussion and kitchen to display the famous weight of one of the most respected batteries rock`n'roll - the duel soil them with Taylor parent in front of the stage, is one of the highlights of the show.
Not to say that Freddie Mercury does not appear, the frontman of the eternal Queen appears twice on the big screen in exciting times: in "Love of my life", sung only by May on guitar, and during "Bohemian Rhapsody," which begins with Lambert, Mercury which passes all together, and ends with a final apotheotic.

Public approves Adam Lambert as lead singer of Queen REVIEW
Jose Norberto Flesch Collaboration for UOL, in São Paulo17.9.2015
The dental surgeon Octavio Neiva, 46, came out of Campina Grande (PB) and came to São Paulo just to see the Queen, late on Wednesday (16) at the Ibirapuera Gymnasium. He was the one who approved the American Adam Lambert, 33, as the lead singer of the English band whose career span is much larger than the ity of the singer.
"I wanted to see Brian (May, guitar) and Roger (Taylor, drummer). There had to be someone singing. But I liked him. Too was worth it," concludes Mercury, as friends of Octavian, who came together, call in reference to the original former lead singer of Queen who died in 1991. The architect Denis Elias, 36, paraded praise for Lambert, later in the show. "You can not compare the three vocalists (the Queen ever had). Freddie and Paul (Rodgers) were quite different, and Adam also. And I liked him very much. It's a showman, friendly, with great stage presence" he said. If Adam won the older audience, who met the Queen with Mercury on vocals, he also made the joy of the youngest fans of the band. This applies to the student Giovanna Benedette, 17, who went to the show with their parents. "I love the Adam. You know what happens? People think he came in to replace Freddie, but actually what it does is a tribute," said the girl. The Giovanna's mother, Siomara Benedette, 52, supports daughter in approving the singer. "He has a wonderful voice timbre. I thought he was just a little extravagant, but then again, Freddie was also" compares. The show The Queen anticipated in Sao Paulo the show is tomorrow at the Rock in Rio. During 2:20 a.m. , passed on the race. Lined on the setlist of songs not as well known as "In the Lap of the Gods" from the album "Sheer Heart Attack", 1974, the classics, like "Somebody to Love" and "We Are the Champions". Another "Sheer Heart Attack" that came was "Killer Queen", Lambert sang sitting on a purple couch.
The singer is not all this fable that the most excited the public think it is. Most of the time, their presence more bother than pleased. But when the singer hit, the show grows absurdly. Lambert has a sequence in which dominates the show, and appears to reverse the situation. "Save Me" and "Who Wants to Live Forever", it does the Queen penetrate the universe and his vocal performance, and not the other way around, when you try to adapt to the group. The singer still get along "Show Must Go On." But that's it.
As a tribute to Freddie Mercury, it works. As the Queen show, disappoint a bit. The idol appears on the screen three times. At first, sings an excerpt from "Love of My Life." At last, comes the 'duel' on vocals with Adam in "Bohemian Rhapsody". But no major versions of any of the group's songs except the two mentioned, where Adam takes over. The place did not help. The bad acoustics Ibirapuera gymnasium spoiled the early part of the presentation. For anyone who was on the track, near the stage, sound, and tangled, it was covered by the battery box of Roger Taylor, too high at the beginning.
Taylor brought along his son Rufus, who served as a percussionist and also dueled with his father during Roger's drum solo. The boy also took the drumsticks on "Tie Your Mother Down".
Does not displeased in almost no time was the scenic production of the band. Although remember very Pink Floyd, the lighting around a round screen installed inside the drawing of a letter Q, became the visually very beautiful sight. Still, Brian May did not have resorted to playing cliché wearing a shirt that represented Brazil, but that's another story.

Again, it seems the critics in Brazil are pretty harsh, while the audiences are ecstatic, as everywhere else in the world! I love the videos that I have seen so far - I think they were at the top of the game and gave a wonderful show. Interesting rendition of Ghost Town - rock fans will appreciate it. It was well done, of course, but I like the original as well - I think as a rock song it has not only a different vibe and feel to it, but the lyrics and the message can be reinterpreted as well. The original club/house version has that feeling of abandon in it - "my heart is a ghost town and I'm just gonna dance it out", but the rock version is more gritty - "it's a ghost town. period." They're almost two different songs. Just my opinion.
