I have a question. If GT loses spins on two consecutive published reports is it in danger of being purged? That could be the case this Sunday if spins do not pick up and it would be such a shame a week before it would go recurrent. I just don't seem to hang on to those rules so hopefully this is not going to happen.

I have a question. If GT loses spins on two consecutive published reports is it in danger of being purged? That could be the case this Sunday if spins do not pick up and it would be such a shame a week before it would go recurrent. I just don't seem to hang on to those rules so hopefully this is not going to happen. I think "the 2 weeks of negative bullet" IS the rule for recurrency for songs that have not reached top 10. Which means GT WILL go recurrent UNLESS it falls out of top 40 before Oct. 4th. I am waiting till THursday to see if the "top 20" stations will pick up...not giving up until then. (I chose Thursday as my own arbitrary marker....) ETA: Q3 posted the rule in the daily OP: "It will be removed from the Mediabase Pop airplay chart (but still played) when it goes recurrent (gets too old) on October 4 AND has two negative updates after those 20 weeks on the official Sunday chart.."Read more: adamtopia.com/thread/3251/ghost-town-charts-new-setlist#ixzz3mT7PHCyHSo, I am correct. also, this: "Billboard also has recurrent rules - “Ghost Town” is currently Hot 100 #63 week 13, Adult Pop Songs #18, week 12. Descending songs are removed from the Billboard Hot 100 after 20 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 and if ranking below No. 50. Descending songs are removed from Adult Contemporary, Adult Top 40 (Adult Pop) and Adult R&B after 20 weeks if ranking below No. 15, after 26 weeks if ranking below No. 10, or after 52 weeks if ranking below No. 5. A song has to be under 40 to get purged! 41-50! So no!

When a song goes recurrant does that mean its spins aren't sent to chart keepers and to find them out one has to look at the individual stations? Trying to get a clearer picture. So cool that Ghost Town was able to stay around so long. That longevity gave a chance for a lot of ears to hear it and it's uniqueness means it won't be easily forgotten. What a brilliant choice for a first single

What a brilliant choice for a first single Believe it or not, there is a recurrent chart for every format! When you go to the All Access Mediabase chart page, the last pulldown on the right, is Current or Recurrents. Change it to recurrents and you get a different chart! Was just playing over there. Too bad the unmonitored stations spinning GT don't count! It's #19 with 4440 spins! Now, it is possible that BB counts some of those stations! Which OFC, helps with the BB100 placement!

How do you all interpret that? For all formats except Country and AC: Songs below No. 10 are removed from the chart after 20 weeks provided they have peaked in the Top 10. If a song has not peaked in the Top 10, it must be down in spins for two consecutive weeks and have been on the chart over 20 weeks

If a song has not peaked in the Top 10, it must be down in spins for two consecutive weeks and have been on the chart over 20 weeks First of all, consecutive means that if spins are positive next week then this week's negative would no longer count. For the rest, I would interpret that to mean that the consecutive weeks start after Oct 4 because otherwise it would have said, "it must have been down in spins". But then again, I don't think a nitpicky lawyer wrote it, so anything could be true.

I know it has to be 2 negatives in a row and only the Sunday Published report counts. It's the other wording I think is very unclear!

Sorry about the repeat, and the second sentence addresses your actual question ...
