The British band Queen, record sales record around the world and owner of an enviable list of hits in the curriculum, returned to celebrate 30 years of Rock in Rio in style. In the first presentation, in January 1985, the group still had their original training with Freddie Mercury on vocals and piano. The singer, idolized by fans and admired by lovers of good old rock and roll today, influenced thousands of young people during the 80s and became an icon due to irreverence and enthusiasm who commanded the stage shows.
Among the remaining of the season, only the guitarist Bryan May and drummer Roger Taylor went solo career in parallel with sporadic concerts with the Queen. In the current tour, the duo decided to entrust the honor of taking the vocals to the musician Adam Lambert, vice champion of American Idol in 2009. The singer, who auditioned in reality with "Bohemian Rhapsody" won Brian and Roger and was invited to Following on tour with the group since 2011.
Taking all these elements into consideration, it was easy to understand the anxiety of the audience to review a presentation of the Queen, now a young man - hitherto unknown to many - with microphone in hand. Despite all expectation, mistrust also in the air. Among the rumbles, you could hear was, "Who is this guy Adam Lambert?" "No one compares to Freddie Mercury" or "I came to see Brian and Roger, but let's see what this guy can do ... "
The expectation ended when around 0h30, with about 30 minutes late, the Queen took the stage with "One Vision", to delirium and hysteria present in Rock City, located in the West Zone of Rio de Janeiro. Right away, the trio showed that came with guitar solos and accurate as the lead singer treble. The dynamism and rock 'n roll attitude were also elements that prevailed at the beginning and throughout the presentation, which undoubtedly was instrumental in awakening even those who were tired and sleepy. "Rio, you are beautiful. Gorgeous! "Said the vocalist with a laugh.

It may be cliché, but what makes a show out of good and predictable, the traditional "bread and butter" to another level is how much power the members of a band donate to the presentation. And it did not fail in the Queen performance. Nor the countless costume changes between songs discouraged the crowd, as on stage always something interesting happening and called their attention. At one point, drummer Roger Taylor caught a soil duel with one of the members that make up the band, tearing applause and cheers of those present.
Returning to the presentation, no comment beyond exceptional describes the vitality of Brian and Roger, even after many years of career success and consolidated. But this is nothing new. The most interesting is that there is still a lot of passion both for what they do when they go up on stage, something that is evident to show respect and not be indifferent to the affection of the fans, always returning with the best they can do.
Regarding the participation of Adam Lambert, the musician has brought forward the invitation and blew everyone away with her vocal range, pitch and dynamics. If a few hours before the show started some feared that the participation of the singer were not worthy of the Queen, it did not take the show ends for most recognize the applauded the talent of the musician, who looked very honored and happy about the opportunity to play to about 85,000 people at a festival that was part of the successful history of the band. It was not a substitute for eternal Freddie Mercury, but a beautiful tribute. As the musician soon demonstrated at the beginning of the show, Freddie is one of his great influences and he made sure to make room for the members of the original lineup of the band shone on the scene. By From that beginning, the artist did not hesitate to invite everyone to celebrate the memory of Mercury in the next two hours and was promptly served.
Although the pressure was too great, the presence of mind of Adam Lambert impressed. The singer, who seemed at ease, abused faces and mouths, of theatricality on stage and extended treble, trademarks artist. Another issue closely related to the musician's personality is the ability to fashion. There were four or five changes of costume, all being very stylish and millimeter with matching shoes and accessories. But it would yield another matter.

The setlist also paced the great classics of two decades of band. The main of the night were played "Do not Stop Me Know", "I Want to Break Free", "Somebody to Love", "A Kind of Magic" (sung by Roger Taylor), "Under Pressure", " Radio Gaga "," I Want It All "and" Crazy Little Thing Called Love ". There was also space so that Adam could present his new single, the song "Ghost Town" from the album "The Original High", with some arrangements modified especially for the shows in Brazil.
But, of course, the most anticipated of the night could not go unchallenged. The song was recorded among the best moments in the history of Rock in Rio was once again the most exciting moment of this edition. The success of "Love of My Life" was sung by Bryan May and tens of thousands of people like backing vocals. In the audience, gave to see many couples embracing, excited people and singing from the heart. The Queen guitarist took the opportunity to dedicate the song to Mercury and made a selfie with all the public around them. (see selfie posted by the artist here). "It's an incredible feeling back after 30 years, to be here again in Brazil," he said, being cheered by fans.
In the final part of the more than two-hour show, three of the most iconic songs of Queen brought the best for last. The Rock City went ecstatic after the first chords of "Bohemian Rhapsody", partially sung by Lambert and the rest with Freddie snippets on screen. Perhaps the most exciting time of the day. As a result, the band closed with the lively "We Will Rock You", with a sea of people clenching his fists to echo the chorus and "We Are the Champions", perhaps the best choice really to end a great and memorable night at the Rock in Rio 2015. And Adam, in turn, came with jaguar costume and a crown on his head. In fact, the singer was the king of the night and made it worth the ticket. "Rio, you are a great audience, I love you!", Thanked the singer, joining their new teammates Bryan and Roger for a warm hug and reverence to the public.
This was another one of those moments that Rock in Rio could provide us with and that will go down in memory of those who lived and stored in the form of video recordings for future generations.
Long live the Queen! Long live Rock 'n Roll!
