I really loved the surreal, artistic photos from the Schon magazine shoot -- until I read the credits below one of the photos and saw the word "taxidermy."
If only they had used an artificial zebra head instead of a real one! (Or better yet, a live zebra.) Realizing that the head of a once-living, beautiful animal was being used as a photo prop made me sad and angry that too many of these creatures are hunted down for sport.
Sorry if I'm coming across as a Debbie Downer. But I care deeply about animals, and feel strongly about mistreatment of them. And I think taxidermy is barbaric. Maybe too much of Brian's animal activism has rubbed off on me. (Not sure he'd love this set of photos.)
I'm not criticizing Adam for this shoot; I'm sure he didn't see, or intend, anything negative in doing it. It's just that animals are a hot button issue for me. And there was nothing wrong with the shower picture, so at least I have that to appreciate!
