The American Idol star entertained fans at Fresh 102.7 Fall Fest, along with Duran Duran, A Great Big World, Rachel Platten, and Phases.
As time draws near for Adam Lambert to take the stage, his fans (known as Glamberts) gather at the railing, packing in to reserve their spot to catch a glimpse of the superstar. Extra security is on hand to manage the growing crowd. Finally, at 9:40 p.m, Adam Lambert takes the stage to rapturous cheers and howls.
Carson and Cane from the Fresh 102.7 Morning Show introduce Adam. The stage grows dark as his band enters one by one. Adam emerges last wearing a black edgy outfit consisting of black jeans and a blazer paired with leather gloves and black boots. Fans were shouting “Adam!” over and over.
He starts his show off with “Shady” from his second album, Trespassing, but he didn’t start singing right away as he appeared to be having technical issues. Despite any problems, the first song comes off perfectly with the crowd singing along every step of the way.
As Lambert begins his first single, “Ghost Town” off his newest album, The Original High, the crowd grows even more rowdy. He follows with a cover of “Wicked Game” by Chris Isaak. It sounds perfect even though he apparently can’t hear himself in his ear piece. This was evident as he motions with his hands to the sound crew and jokingly sang to the crowd,
“Can you hear me. Cuz I can’t hear me. I can’t hear me. But I’m glad you guys could hear me.”
Lambert asks the crowd,
“Does anyone have Twitter? Does anyone have Instagram? Is Instagram more popular than Twitter now? What about Snapchat? Is there one that I’m missing. Facebook? You guys are all on fucking Facebook come on.”
He continues smiling saying,
“If you’re following my stuff on these social media things, you might know that tonight at midnight I’m dropping my next music video.” From there, he launches into his newest single “Another Lonely Night.”
After singing “Evil in the Night,” Lambert comes back out for an encore singing “Trespassing” remixed with Queen’s “Another One Bites the Dust.” Many of his fans know this song is a favorite which he performed throughout the recent Queen and Adam Lambert tour.
While some might have expected Lambert to close with his latest single, he did not. Rather, he sang “If I Had You” off of his first album, For Your Entertainment. To keep things fresh, he performed a reggae version of the song, something he’s done only a few times before.
He ended the night smiling and saying, “Thank you very much!” He slowly exits the stage, leaving his fans wanting more.
