My news today is good news. It's been a year since I gave up my private practice and went to work for a birth center. I had my job eval today and my boss gave me a fat bonus so I can get some major dental work done with a promise for a raise next year. As well, she is also willing to pay for me to go back and get my RN eventually if I wish to pursue it!! I LOVE MY JOB!!! Peace and love to all of you! AMW--woohooooo! Get it, Girl!

wal, a few days ago peeps were worried about you cuz you hadn't posted in a while. I guess we know why, now. I'm so glad your son is OK!!!! Q3, thanks for starting this thread. Many here have become more than just Adam addicts together. Friendships have formed and we care about what happens to each other! What MWP said -- Get it, girl! Love that you added celebration to this thread. One of the best things a community can do is draw together to welcome new life and offer comfort to those who've lost a dear one. The work you do in midwifery is so important -- I worked with midwives during my first pregnancy and they were wonderful, very much bringing me as well as the baby through the birth and those first weeks afterward when the medical system releases you with your baby and your car seat and no earthly clue WHAT to do now!

WAL-- I am not a medical professional, but from a Moms' perspective, I think it would help your son to see the tape. He is old enough to understand. It would probably put this experience into perspective for him. And hopefully he will come away with a better understanding of how precious life is, and how, in the blink of an eye it can be taken away from us. Young people are usually very resilient. Just give him time to process this experience, and be there for him if he has any questions.

Hello, my darling ATop family!! Just checking in briefly before my sister picks me up and we head to the funeral home place... As soon as my two brothers leave town I'll have a bit more time to get caught up on the threads and shake the dust off my photobucket pics! : It's actually sort of hard having the brothers around cause they're not into "comtemplation." Yesterday all four of us siblings went to the nursing home to clear out mom's room, and it was a fairly traumatic experience mainly because of the speed with which the brothers attacked everything! LOL If it had just been me and my sister, it would have taken us all day, with carefully sorting things into piles and talking about individual items and reminiscing about everything over cups of coffee and tea... with the brothers it was like "throw everything into black plastic garbage bags and let's get the hell outta here!!!" This is when you really see the difference between men and women!!! ---------------------------------------------------------------- Just wanted to say that I'm completely and utterly overwhelmed at all the messages of love and support on this board... I'm just working my way through dozens of sweet and thoughtful PMs... Y'll have made my heart so full right now. Thank you thank you thank you... I hope to be back later today!!

SEOULMATE--- Glad you are keeping in touch. Yes, men are def different. When my dh's Mom passed away he had to clear out her house so it could be sold. He, and his brother, went through the place like one of the recent tornadoes. We had old albums, and yearbooks stored in her garage in unlabeled boxes. (my fault :() Before I knew it they were at the dump! Was so angry at dh for not checking boxes first!! He assumed it was all "old junk" that belonged to his Mom! >:(

I haven't been reading all the threads lately, so I did not comment or lend support to anyone because I didn't want to miss somebody. I was just listening to my itunes on shuffle and this song came on. It pretty much describes how everyone here feels about each other.
Hope you don't mind that I fixed your lovely link, tinafea

Since I can't seem to get up to snuff with goings on here the last few days I fear I missed sending my loving thoughts to some of you. That's why this thread is a wonderful move by Q3. Even if we're not caught up with all things Adam we can make a little side trip here to see if our Atopian companions are doing ok.
Lagging behind here but my thoughts are with Seoulmate, wal and gelly! I've said so personally in a PM but I wanted to say it publicly too!
Love you guys!
