Thanks for all the congrats!!
seoulmate - sounds like you're getting through it. Sorry that your brothers don't get the sentimental piece about going through your mom's stuff. some y chromosomes are not wired that way.
wal, ITA with gamnana. It will help take the mystery out of what happened to your son if he sees it and may help him process it.

I've been meaning to come over here, but have been so busy with work, etc., that I haven't gotten here until tonight...umm, this morning.
I'm so overwhelmed right now! Sugaree...that song...omg! But, I knew all the words...uh huh. You are one darling lady. TY so much for what you have given me. Know that I will alway hold you close to my heart. You are beautiful!!
My life has been so busy lately, that I really don't remember if I have given condolences to any who have had family problems or losses. Please forgive me.
Seoulmate: (((Hugs))) to you. I'm so very sorry for your loss. Your dear Mom is flying free now, an Angel watching over you. She is truly at peace now. I know you know that. So sorry for all the stress with your brothers, but I know that only too well. I have 2 older brothers who were not with me when my sweet Mom passed over. When they came home, they meant to help. I know they did, but they just started tossing things when I wasn't there. As the youngest, they might have thought I wouldn't do anything about it, but I stopped it. I took control and did not let any more of that happen and they got a good tongue lashing, also...lol!
Even if they are men, they are still boys...to me. I think I kind of shocked my brothers, but I didn't really care. My sons definately stood back and let me lead the way.
Hopefully, you and your brothers worked it all out in the end. I am so happy for your Mom that they were all there with you.
I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers, my friend. Losing your Mom is so hard. I'm here if you ever need to talk.
(((Hugs))) to you, and know that I care. Later, I will give you new insight about LTC. It too, does get better. My work is living proof. Just wanted you to know that, as I saw what you posted and my place of work is doing things to change about everything you posted about. Hopefully, every place will eventually changes for the better.

wal: OMG!! What a scary thing to have to go through!! I'm so happy your son is alright! I admire your strength!! I think I would be a zombie if that had happened to me.
I am so happy that he is alright. And, God Bless the school nurse and who ever else helped him. Immediate action surely saved his life.
I am sending comforting thoughts to you and your son. I didn't know things like that could happen. Just so happy and thankful that he is ok now.
(((Hugs)))

Late, but glad things turned out okay, Wal.
Seoul! Do good to see you!
Amw: Isn't it great to be able to do work that you love? I feel really lucky that way.

On Monday (the 30th) I'm going to a birthday party for an amazing person that I've known since birth! but He has ALS - he is the same age as my youngest brother and has 4 children of his own!) He now cannot breathe nor eat on his own! Here is a link to a Stanford Medical Trial that his Mom got him into stanmed.stanford.edu/2008summer/breath_of_hope.html (She's a retired UCSF - Neo-Natal Nurse - High Risk Birth Center!) He was also going to be a stem-cell research subject - but wasn't well enough for that to be! Please check out my Dad's Smugmug site to see about Darren Dent - jvp.smugmug.com/Darren-Dent !

Just want to share my crazy story from lastnight. hrmp! just as i get back int he swing of things, another thing getting in my way. Just got a new stove, after a gas leak, had to pay extra money to replace our gas valve, but this is way more annoying. loosing over 600 dollars worth of things, and ended our night early, but im staying positive. Husby and I got our car broken in to in Wicker Park, in Chicago, IL. Our car was parked on a busy street with a lot of people around 0.o. i guess people will still be cracked out jerks, and break windows, to steal things, no matter where you park. This isnt even the first time this has happend to us either. We got the same car broken in to in Detroit in a parking deck. which was not watched over a few years ago. *sigh* my husby and I and a group of friends were about to go to another bar in chicago. my friend and i were walking ahead of everyone, and i was joking with her, "i hope we didnt get a ticket", cuz there were cops near by, and as we got closer i noticed the window didnt look right, and as soon as we go to our car. i saw our glove department, and center console open, and our 160g ipod, GPS, and cables for those, and my Husby's work out headphones gone. The way i look at all of this, even tho it is a hassle is, Husby is ok, Im ok, even tho i have a very tiny cut on my hand from the glass (very little, im ok), and our friends are ok. We also see this as a blessing in disguise because, my husby ipod was old, and having issues, and thankgod they still sell 160g ipod classics (the funny thing about the dumb ass stealing it is it has my husby name and email on the back of it lol.), and our GPS was an older version. Since my family has a cottage in Canada, our old GPS didnt have Canada maps, sooooooo now ill be able to have that :D sooo excited. . We have to wait till monday to take care of our insurance claim, so hopefully we will get money back for the things we lost. our deductible is high, so there goes that money, on top of us spending extra on a nicer stove, and having to pay to have some guy to install the gas valve. but n e ways, it's always good to stay calm when things like this happen, and to take a negative situation and turn it in to a positive one. oh, and I hope they catch the person. I hope everyone has a good Sunday

Kapsiz - hope your friend's birthday party goes really well...ALS is the most awful disease. It's the one I've always worried about most - hard to imagine your body shutting down on you, but your mind staying alert to watch it all happen. I wish him a happy day tomorrow!
Littledarkangel - so sorry to hear about your car break-in, but I'm glad to see you are managing to look on the bright side! We all assume our things are safe until something like this happens... Keep looking on the bright side!

kapsizI'm really sorry about your friend. You seem like a really nice person who cares about friends and family. I hope all of you will give him the best birtday party. Littledarkangel I'm really sorry to hear about your car break. I had the same experience two years ago, all the console of the car was damaged cause they were trying to pull out the cd. Its funny how all bad things happened to you, one after the other. Good thing though, all material stuff so everything can be replaced. Happy to see you're optimistic. AND I DO HOPE THEY WOULD CATCH THEM !!!!!

kapsiz - A young man I worked with developed ALS when he was in his 30's! It took forever for him to get a diagnosis, perhaps because Dr's thought someone his age wouldn't develop ALS. So so sad. I wish the best for you friend.
Littledarkangel - Really back luck with the car breakin. I've never had that happen. No one wants to steal my car. #grateful

littledarkangel: So irritating that some cracked out kid thinks your stuff should be donated to his habit. No boundaries.
One thing to consider: I am hearing more and more experts say that you should not file small claims on your car or home owner's insurance. It can lead to higher premiums in the future, or being dropped. Insurance companies are very skittish these days, and all it can take is one or two claims before you become an undesirable. It may be cheaper in the long run to just pay for the replacements. Especially if you have a high deductible. Just a thought.
