This is just for fun. Have you guys heard about this? The British newspaper The Guardian has started a project called "Six Songs of Me" ( www.sixsongsof.me/) to help gather information about favorite songs, and thus try to understand just why music matters so much to all of us. The Six Songs cover these questions: * What was the first song you ever bought? * What song always gets you dancing? * What song takes you back to your childhood? * What is your perfect love song? * What song would you want at your funeral? * Time for an encore. One last song that makes you, you. My idea is NOT to go spam The Guardian with Adam songs, but to have some fun with one another, here. I'll start: 1. Theme from Rocky ("Gonna Fly Now") 2. Kickin' In (old song: Footloose by Kenny Loggins) 3. Raindrops Keep Fallin' On My Head by BJ Thomas 4. Beautiful by Gordon Lightfoot 5. Big Rock Candy Mountain, by Harry McClintock 6. Thunder Road, by Bruce Springsteen What do you think? Is it possible to pick six songs and say "This is me"? I would like to know what music YOU connect with most profoundly! Please keep responses in Members Thread.

Impossible! 1. 1st song purchased: probably a 45 of Donny Osmond, "Sweet and Innocent" 2. ...dancing: 70's funk like "Love Rollercoaster" by Ohio Players. I *dare* you to try and stand still when it plays. "Shady" does the same thing for me. 3. ...childhood: so many come to mind, "Close to You" (Carpenters), "Raindrops Keep Falling on my Head (B.J. Thomas), "Ghost Riders in the Sky" or any Kingston Trio (my dad loved them), "Downtown" (Petula Clark) 4. ...love song. Not sure, I'm not that romantic. Maybe "At Last" by Etta James 5. ...funeral. "Also Sprach Zarathustra" (Deodato)-- a jazz version of the theme from 2001: A Space Odyssey. Also Michael Hedges "Aerial Boundaries" 6. ...encore. Too many to count. Probably Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon, in its entirety, while The Wizard of Oz is screened with its soundtrack muted (it makes for a surreal soundtrack, start the disc when the MGM lion roars the second time, hit repeat when the disc finishes)

Okay, here is my song list. Sorry, sometimes I couldn't name only one song! * What was the first song you ever bought? T-Rex - Metal Guru * What song always gets you dancing? Besides all the faster songs of Adam these songs always get me dancing ... Azarii & III - Reckless www.youtube.com/watch?v=aMEhf9iw55M Dabruck & Klein feat. Ollie James - I found love (Tonka Remix) www.youtube.com/watch?v=a2PHa5LiopY Tim Berg - Seek Bromance www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jrd25gjyDhE* What song takes you back to your childhood? Bay City Rollers - I only wanna be with you (Haha, as a child I was a big fan of that boygroup and I loved the singer Leslie so much! ) www.youtube.com/watch?v=CGD27WgtKhI * What is your perfect love song? Besides some of Adam's love songs (Nirvana, Map, ...) this song is a perfect love song for me! Incognito - I love what you do for me www.youtube.com/watch?v=f-XdiDnhpCQ* What song would you want at your funeral? Queen + Adam - Who wants to live forever (London 3) * Time for an encore. One last song that makes you, you. Hmmm, perhaps "Fat bottomed girls" because I'm one of them!?! :-/ Haha, no, I really like this song/video, can't explain why! Hard-Fi - Fire in the house www.youtube.com/watch?v=K42rcO6zx6g
