Awww Catz, what a nightmare. I used to think I was throwing money away by renting and dreamed of owning a house. The more I learn of home ownership the more I appreciate the freedom of renting. :(

Mszue, I send you a DM, I could help you out. Thank you so much for doing this, I see that even if you're a new member you tried to help mszue. If you want to share, do you know anything about what happened to her? It's been days since her last post. :( Amazingly, I came on line to see what was going on and find this last post....I love you guys! I caught the early morning ferry last Sunday am and started driving...I drove for about 12 hours and stopped in early evening to sleep. headed out the next morning and drove straight to the hospital. My brother was standing out side the main entrance waiting for me and I flashed back to the identical situation when my youngest sister died of cancer 12 years earlier....holy flashback!! nearly did me in right there... Sis was looking really bad--she is 12 years younger than me and looked that many years older....and white as a sheet, gasping for breath. Very hard to see. However, they drained a mess of fluids off her heart and lungs and gave her oxygen so when I left Calgary yesterday, she was looking much better and tests to date are encouraging. Whew. I travelled a couple of hours south to another old friend who has a debilitating genetic liver condition to be met at the door with the info that another friend's father just died. I know the whole family there and it is a big one so I spent the afternoon visiting with them. It was actually the first 'fun' I have had....they are such an upbeat bunch and we relived some good old times. [separate bonus...one of the sisters in this family lives in LA and I have a standing invite to visit her...she teaches high risk highschool kids in one of the poor sections of the city...it was fun to reconnect with her]. When I returned to my friends home, she was not well at all. She is today, fighting a recurrance of pancreatitis. I now have to change my return plans to stay with her until, at least, her daughter returns from her camping trip! Wow....I guess there was a reason I had to come out this way. I have managed a couple of quick 'visits' to atop but never for long enough to get even remotely caught up with things....even this post has been interrupted 3 times and I have to go... re the planned retirement community....I can do hair...I can teach stuff you already know  and I am a great talker!!! hahaha Please include me...you may need to provide me with an H1B1 visa of some kind....either that or we need a Canadian counterpart!! Hugs to all....gotta go..... |

mszue, It's good to hear that you're okay and your sister is getting better. It must be a huge relief! Sorry about your other friend and the other friend's father, though. :( Strength and positive thoughts to you, as well as hugs, too!

Oh, my goodness, Catz!...real life can be worse than any story that soap opera writers could dream up, can't it?
I believe it DOES get better, if you can just hold on long enough...you have lots of people here at Atop sending you thoughts and prayers. Please take care of yourself, and try to rest enough to get better.
As far as your fluffies go, if you have to shift them they'll adjust just fine as long as you are there with them!
