I do not post often but I am here everyday. This place is my lifeline. My husband has not been well for a long time and we just had it confirmed that he is in liver failure. He has been to the hospital twice this week to have fluid drained from his stomach. I have been so concerned and so scared. My family is not close so I feel like I am alone is this. Coming here is my get away from my reality for awhileevery day Thank you everyone for being here. If anyone knows anything about this desease and has any advice on how to get help in dealing with all the different aspects of this illness I would appreciate anything you have to offer. I'm so sorry for your situation, cookeejar, the best advice I can give is to find the best possible doctors. Stay strong :D

YOU GUYS ARE AMAZING!! Just got done reading this thread. Crying my eyes out - in a good way. I really needed to let it all out. I got a bunch of cards from around the world. You guys rock! So glad to be home. My entire body feels like when your foot is asleep and I lost a lot of dexterity in my hands (typing should be good therapy). Don't know the prognosis. Doctor will not guarantee that the numbness will leave or if my hands will get better. That's the scary part, but I will do whatever therapy they give me. Lynne, did you have any of my symptoms? I know everyone is different, but would love to hear your details. gelly, mia, cookie, and anyone I might have missed - BIG HUGS TO YOU!!! I'll be here reading and posting when I can. Thank the universe for you guys and this place. Daytime tv sucks.

Thank you Chapf for your insanely funny smilies. They always keep me amused. I often call to my husband to see them. Sometimes the humor is lost in the translation.

When I had numbness in my thumb due to a cat bite a friend who has had nerve damage issues recommended taking a B-Complex Stress formula vitamin as that had been recommended to her for nerve recovery issues. Certainly can't hurt and apparently helps with the healing process. Worked for me.

Thank the universe for you guys and this place. Daytime tv sucks. Sorry it has taken me so long to get back to this thread! It has been a really busy work week. I did have some of your nerve symptoms, numbness and tingling and burning. After my surgery, it all was really scary. I still have those symptoms to some degree, but they have really lessened over time, and I am kind of used to my new normal. I find that doing certain things agitates my symptoms. Initially I was pretty worried because reading and writing really stirred things up, and those are both things I love to do for my own enjoyment in life, but also as part of my job. The iPad has really helped with reading because I don't have to hold it. I prop it up against some pillows and that makes my neck much happier. The good news is that I continued to improve for about two years, beyond the time period given to me by my doctor, so don't give up or get discouraged. I am pretty much able to do most everything I need or want to do now. . Cookie hugs to you. I have no words except to let you know you are not alone. I'm glad you are able to come here to rest.
