Tinafea, sending a little prayer of comfort to you from me. Been there, and it is not easy ever to lose a brother. Think of all the good things you shared, and cry your eyes out. The tears dry up eventually. It just takes time. If you need to talk, you know where to go. Everyone here is in your corner and sending positive thoughts your way. Stay as strong as you are able.

Tinafea--all I can say is I'm so sorry about these hard times. Things are just too hard sometimes. Big big hugs and hang in there.
Cookiejar--thinking of you too, and your husband. Best of luck--Doctors can do amazing things these days.
Sugaree--I'm so glad you're home and I hope things get a little better and a little easier every day, no matter how little. Remember that sometimes when improvements seem slow that doesn't mean they aren't happening. My dad is going through a difficult rehab at the mo and he was getting frustrated, but to me, who hadn't seen him for a few months, the progress was very clear.
I hesitate to mention this because it seems so minor and silly in comparison to your scary fall, but I thought what the heck, it may help a little: I once lost feeling my toe because a pair of new sandals I bought pushed against a nerve in a funny way and made the toe numb. Not a big deal, didn't really bother me, but it was definitely numb. It seems ridiculous, I know, but the numbness lasted over a year! But then, even after all that time, it got better and eventually (within a couple years) went away entirely. Which is just to say that nerves fix themselves after a shock, slowly, in remarkable ways sometimes, even after it seems they won't. So chin up.
And all the very best.
