I think most of us are waiting with bated breath to see if Adam's TOH does come to pass in the US. It's ridiculous that someone with such a strong international fan base still has trouble booking a full US tour. The US market simply doesn't get it. Sure, GT has done well, and I predict ALN will do very well on the radio and charts. But while foreign venues are selling out, I do wonder if US venues are being booked yet. He's doing all these radio promo shows, which is great, but that's sure not what a tour is. Adam is a one in a billion talent and a marketer's nightmare. The world outside the US seems to really get him. I don't want him opening for anyone. Demi and Nick fit together nicely for their fan bases. Interesting to read the comments above about Demi's concerts. I feel even more lucky to be treated to Adam's shows. Let's hope and pray that a US tour does happen. View, Spotify, Shazam, etc. The facts do not support your statement that "the US market simply doesn't get it." Check the numbers from the GNT Tour -- Adam generated more revenue in the US than anywhere else. And since then, although there has been no formal US tour, there have been a number of large, mostly sold-out concerts here. The US is the largest revenue market (US$6 billion) and most complicated in the world. You can get one promoter, book 6 concerts and you have a Australia tour, one promoter and 5 concerts and you have a Japan tour. A US tour can easily be 50+ dates and dozens of promoters plus a master promoter. And every concert date has least four players are involved: artists, a promoter, a ticket-seller and a venue. Managing a tour is a huge commitment.

I've seen a few comments about how Adam not pissed because of his tweet. Because he is publicly saying something nice and conciliatory doesn't necessarily mean that he is not feeling upset/betrayed. He's very good at NOT burning bridges (Sony/RCA). ETA: Regarding tweens--aren't Demi's fans growing older with her? Not as far as I saw at my one Demi concert which was last year in the US. Her fans were mostly 10-13 year old girls -- who have followed her since she was on Disney. Seems like they turn 14 and move on. It may be different in other countries. **** If Adam co-toured with her, he would have almost certainly been on before her. It is her tour. Call it co-touring, call it supporting, whatever it is, it would have been Adam on Demi's Tour. Is it feasible that Adam's management or Warner were the ones pushing for the Demi tour? Even for the chance of playing larger venues I don't see Adam playing second fiddle to anyone by choice. If that is the case he's probably secretly relieved it's fallen through.

cassie, not meaning to put you on the spot, but could you provide a mini analysis of this Demi Lovato isolated vocal? Not sure how they do these isolated vocals, maybe it is not a fair thing to evaluate? With my limited knowledge, I do enjoy her voice, but wonder what you think. Very interesting. I will answer from a singing technique perspective. Whether you or I or others like or dislike or are ambivalent to the sound of her voice is irrevelant to this post, so don't shoot the messenger, okay? I am surprised to hear the lack of vocal technique in her voice. Given her extensive background with Disney, I would think that she would have gotten lots of coaching/training. I don't hear that here. The beginning is at the bottom of her register, where singers don't have a lot of power or resonance. I hear that with a breathy tone, wobbly pitch and no ring to her voice. When she moves up in pitch she has two voices she uses. One is similar to the low register: breathy, very light and wispy. The second is belting. It has a brittle, astringent sound with a lot of push in it. It has power, but she is not tapping into any of her body's natural resonance. The pitch is more accurate, but not completely controlled. (There is a difference between hitting a bum pitch because your "aim" is off, and missing the pitch because you are not supporting the sound properly with breath control. It sounds like the latter to me.) The power belting, strained, pushed sound seems to be common (and popular?) with female pop singers. It concerns me for her, because it sounds like she is putting a lot of stress on her vocal cords in an unhealthy way. A singer with training in a more formal or classical technique would gain power through using the body's natural resonance. It would not sound like she is trying to push out a baby or that she was constipated. (Forgive me for being crude, but you know the mechanism used to push, right? It is the same used to push breath thru the constricted vocal cords forcefully to hit the note strongly.) With the more formal/legitimate/classical techniques her voice would have more warmth, more depth, more ring, and almost sound like it had a touch of reverb to it. To me, her voice when she belts sounds like when you turn up a cheap laptop audio: it gets louder, but it sounds flat (not in pitch but as opposed to rich). If you hook your laptop audio to a good quality sound system and turn up the volume, it sounds full with warm low and mid sounds and bright, but not tin-y trebles. That is the sound of a more classically trained singer. As a more classically trained singer, listening to her tone and her voice is uncomfortable to me. I get sympathy pangs in my throat subconsciously trying to correct the strain and lack of proper placement for resonance. (And, no, this almost never happens with Adam, no matter how powerfully he is belting out a song. I can still hear that glorious clarity, purity, and floating resonance so characteristic of his technique. It is part of what makes his performances sound so effortless. If you like that sort of thing.)

Another singer needing to cancel a couple of tour dates because of vocal cords...Janet Jackson. We are so lucky....with all the QAL tour stops Adam's voice was always SUPERB and strong....only one cancellation because he was sick. I say no other Pop Star could handle the Queen catalog, besides the performance style, for the grueling amount of pressure it puts on the vocal cords. Superhuman AFL!! idolator @idolator 12m12 minutes ago .@janetjackson postpones two #Unbreakable tour dates: "Doctor's orders." idola.to/1S2ZRpc
