I don't squeee a lot but those Adam and Sauli pix got me straight up squeeing like an idiot! what a fierce fucker he is! he lives his life on HIS terms, by HIS rules and no one is ever going to tell him otherwise! I've never seen a gay couple walk the red carpet holding hands and I watch the red carpets more than the actual shows. This is a BIG FUCKING DEAL to quote Vice President Joe Biden!! oh and here is some pretty  I'm in full on flail mode right now ngl I love your squeeing, Wonderstruck! That is some A+ squeeing! :D Phew, been out all day and just caught up! I don't know enough about this sort of thing to know how groundbreaking this is--it sure feels pretty special, I feel giddy, and I believe what you say, Wonder. But I also keep thinking about it in the smaller sense--what a moment this is for Adam, personally. How often did we hear him say, over the past couple of years, how uncertain he was about relationships, how relatively inexperienced, how he wanted to be in love but barely knew how to get there, how he was so busy, how much pressure his career put on any such dreams, how much pressure it put on a partner... And here he is, clearly stable, confident, happy, attached, and openly in love. What a totally happy, mindblowing thing that must be for him. (And I'm totally with you, Catz--I think Sauli deserves some MAJOR props.) And add to that, this: when he was on AI even someone as out and proud as Adam knew that he was walking a dangerous line, and he had to play the game wisely, and avoid questions--yes, because he thought they were beside the point and nobody's business, but also because he knew they could, and quite probably did, harm him. On his first AI red carpet--top 13 party--a reporter said to him that a female fan of his wanted to know if he was single, if he was looking, and he said he was, with an adorable little bite at the camera, and the dipshit reporter said to the fan--so you've got a chance, girl--and Adam had to just go with it. And here he is, back on the AI red carpet, and he's neither single, nor in any sense having to limit any part of himself. So proud. These have been a big couple of years for our culture--progress happens, slowly. But they've been a big couple of years of just plain old Adam, too. (who'm I kidding, look up! Adam's never plain!) |

I love, love, love this pic... someone mentioned Sauli getting new boots.. but, I am really thinking that those are Adams boots... look at them again.. enlarged.. LOL.. I could be wrong.. but they sure look like Adams [not that Sauli can't have his own boots..j/s] |

Adam/Sauli no words. Just one other comment on social/parental topics. I loved watching Scotty's father after it was announced that Scotty won a singing competition. He was so proud. Just remember that Scotty is an athlete and was doing very well as a baseball pitcher. For this promising young Southern athlete ( good old boys approved sport) to decide to pursue a singing career could have been a period of major male conflict in this family. It is a forward step in progress that a father could show so much pride in his son for pursuing a a singing career as a country singer at this age. But I think his dad is a singer also. On one of the shows his dad also has a baritone voice and sang something to show where Scotty got his voice from. That's even better. It could be that Dad wished that he had the courage to take this route and is so proud that his song has the opportunity. Just as it is important foro women to allow their daughters the freedom of pursue their best interest, it is also important for fathers to support their sons even if their choices are not conservative traditional choices. Somethimes male children are hampered not just by choices based on sexual orientation, but sometimes just based on what is considered traditional male roles in society. |

Oh, Gelly, thanks for posting this particular photo! I am so thrilled Adam has a partner who is his own person and shows such grace under media and fan scrutiny. Classy guy..does Sauli have a mohawk, Gelly? I know you have every photo in existence which makes us ALL SO HAPPY...LOL  |

Yes. And you know how they will do the interviews and sometimes interview the spouse/significant other? NPH has brought David up to those interviews where they talked about insignificant things such as their outfits and significant things such as the fact that they were expecting twins. I never saw them hold hands but not everyone is a hand holder. I think talking about the children they're having is pretty significant. Out stars do show affection for their partners. It's just that there are so few of them. Oh, I knew they'd done interviews and such but the Red Carpet thing is different and I was just curious as to whether they did any together or not. I forget whether David is in entertainment too. Spouses not in the business often tend not to walk the Red Carpet too much. |
