Folks, I hope (despite all my fears for BB'a safety) that he and the band see the beautiful side- Moscow is amazing! It is a HUGE cultural center with unbelievably rich intellectual depth, with unsurpassed drama theater, musical theater and of course classical musical tradition. "Moscow never sleeps" - is a true statement! The club life, the art galleries, the night entertainment ! I don't even need to mention the 1000 years of history, the architecture, the museums.....I am sure you can do a little search if you are interested, but something not too many people know about - the Metro stations (subway) - I sure hope that Adam will have a chance to see that live :D: Hmmmm reminds me of the NYC subway system...LOL

I wish I didn't have as many things to do today as I do so I could spend time here discussing with ya'll everything Adam is doing right now - career-wise, personally, socially/culturally/politically, not to mention fashion-wise!
I'm GLAD that the concert promoters have faith in Adam's future even-bigger-stardom and if anyone can see the glass more than half-full, I'm sure it's Adam (though I don't think he's going to be there long enough to appreciate too much of Moscow, is he?).
But I would just love to know more about what he's really thinking about being there. I love that he is simply because he had the opportunity and he chose to take it. The part of him that doesn't back away from confrontation is fascinating and admirable to me (not that I think he picks fights, I don't think that at all) - I mean the part of him that "nudges," is "subversive with a smile," etc. The part that motivates him to express himself authentically and "damn the torpedoes," etc.- that, along with the voice, looks, personality, not to mention fashion-sense, is extraordinarily attractive.
Well, those of you on the board today - keep tabs! I'm looking forward to coming back and reading all about Chapter Seven, "Adam's Adventures in Moscow"!

So glad the glam family have arrived safely in Moscow. Now to worry about Adam's safety and for all to go well at his performance.
And the Moscow metro sure looks interesting.

I'll be thinking about Adam et al in Moscow today. I do think, unfortunately, it's possible there will be people in his audience in attendance solely to express their hatred of him and all things gay. But I also think he'll have many more fans there to see him who love him. It's supposed to be a big, big crowd - fifty thou, but I guess not all there in front of one stage at one time, if I understand correctly. (Doesn't the scene in Velvet Goldmine that Adam's mentioned a number of times - in which the performer pours glitter on himself among other things - take place in front of crowd that is hating him?) It's interesting to me that Adam is at this concert. I'd love to hear him talk about how/why it was chosen, to what degree he and his "people" considered the issues of discrimination and violence against homosexuals there, as well as the timing (Pride parade - since cancelled). Did he mention "going to Moscow" in any of his AI interviews? I only heard album and AI talk. I'm sure Adam and company will be fine - but if any Russians decide to march in a Pride parade despite its ban (as I read some might) it sounds like they likely face violence, possibly even from police. I'll be thinking about that today, too.

They are architectural works of arts. Is there a story behind why so much effort in making them beautiful or is this typical for public places in Moscow?
