Mark Moore is a record producer with Sony music. Adam hasn't really cracked the British market, so maybe something is being discussed. Any of you know more?

No I agree it is not a "gay thing". And Gaga and Katy Perry would be wise to avoid singing the National Anthem. Pink could sing it if she chose to -- she certainly has the range. But many famous pop/urban/country/rock singers has sung the National Anthem -- including recently Beyonce. Gaga and Katy Perry are actually quite good singers, although none of the songs showcase this fact. I didn't realize the debate was on range but rather on why Adam hasn't sung the NA and I was merely pointing out that others, who are much bigger stars, haven't either so it seems unlikely that it's a slight against Adam and more likely disinterest by Adam or no time to do it. Both Katy and Gaga could do a credible job with the SSB but neither would be well served by singing it. Whatever they did would be criticized. It is a very hard song to sing well and, if you mess it up and are famous, it is not a good thing. Ask Xtina. For me, the difference that Adam is a high-tenor -- had has the perfect range, power and control to sing the anthem to perfection -- in its original arrangement. And few singers can do that. I am sure that it is not at the top of his "dream list". But I just want to have a version of Adam singing it with big orchestration on that Capital steps or at the Super Bowl. But why didn't he get an anthem invite in June 2009 like all the other ex-Idols have gotten? My guess.... Right after the show ended. Probably because of the RS cover. Then in late 2009-2010, it was the AMA controversy. Now he is too busy and not interested. But I still want to hear him sing it. And regarding the ADL SSB, it was never released except for a short clip, so it does not count for me.

This is a fan who ran into Sauli at Jenny Woo's and then at some second bar. Sauli talked to her at Jenny Woo's for a good amount of time, and she's hinted that he was pretty chatty, maybe about personal stuff. ETA: I'm kind of embarrassed I know this.

Adam singing the national anthem at a huge sporting event is appealing. Since it is usually sung a cappella, and it is damned hard to sing well, his voice would stun the people listening.
Ah, there's the rub. Most people don't listen to the national anthem. It would be great attention, momentarily, but, soon forgotten. (Unless he screwed it up, that is. But, I don't fear that.)
For me, I have already heard him sing it. When it was mentioned some time back, I wrote about his interpretation of it at the Speilberg event. Found a copy and thought I would post it.
You have probably heard everything Adam posted on YT, but someone just referred to this -- Adam singing the National Anthem, a cappella, and I thought as I listened that here is a wonderful example of not only the powerful, beautiful voice, but a touching interpretation. As you know, the song is a bitch to sing well. The words are usually an after thought, sung without meaning, except for the ultimate power note on "free." Adam phrases this with intent. He builds it up, takes it back down, softens it in preparation for a big phrase following, emphasizes words that are usually thrown away. He does so much with his diction at points in this song. So much that adds meaning. I particularly like how he sings "the bombs bursting (breath) in air gave PROOF, (breath) proof thru the night". The choice to extend the lyrical phrase past the obvious musical phrase is stunning. The word "proof" is usually completely lost when people sing this. Adam recognizes that "PROOF" was what the author was anxiously, breathlessly waiting for that night, afraid that his new country might not be strong enough to withstand the bombardment.
The final phrase, "land of the FREE" gets the drama we Americans expect from the top of that phrase (tho' personally, I wish he had just held the high note endlessly instead of adding the run --- but it is almost obligatory these days). But the very last... "and the home of the.......(wait for it, wait for it) BRave!!!" The way he attacks and proudly emphasizes that last word, even tho' the musical line loses power by ending low, almost as if it is an after thought. Not when Adam sings it. That one word, "BRAVE" is so powerful, it shows mastery to me in that song.

I still want him on my TV singing it though..
