I just need to whine a bit -- why is Adam Lambert the only major Idol finalist to not be asked to sing the national anthem at a sports event or holiday? We know he can sing it. Maybe he doesn't want to sing it but I really doubt that. Let me add to your whine....what hasn't he been tapped for some sort of colab...Lord, he knows half the divas singing out there today.....can't believe it wouldn't have been an awesome TV event....grumble....

Both Katy and Gaga could do a credible job with the SSB but neither would be well served by singing it. Whatever they did would be criticized. It is a very hard song to sing well and, if you mess it up and are famous, it is not a good thing. Ask Xtina. I agree which is what I said before. I also think Adam, regardless of how well he sang it would be criticized because it's doubtful he'd sing it straight without any inflections or runs and purists hate that. I agree Adam's voice would be perfect for it and that he has the control and range for it. Maybe I'm just not patriotic enough to care about having a version of him singing it LOL. How many opportunities were there in June 2009 to sing the NA and who got those opportunities? I hope you get to hear him sing it someday Q3 but if you don't you can always enjoy this one...

I've wondered about it, too. And I'll take a potentially unpopular stance and even say I wouldn't be surprised if it were a "gay thing." I'm sorry, but Adam Lambert =/= Clay Aiken. Clay may be gay, but at least as far as I'm concerned, he might as well be neutered, at least as far as his persona is concerned. Adam is a very sexual gay man; his image is completely different and much less "safe." I could definitely see people who are uncomfortable with homosexuality having a much easier time accepting Clay than Adam. JMO. I'll feel we've made progress when every event or opportunity that Adam doesn't get isn't blamed on "the gay" It's a crutch IMO and one, that with ALL of Adam's successes and all the acceptance that he's received seems really unfounded and out of place. It's fine if you feel that way. As it happens, I don't go around blaming homophobia for "every event or opportunity that Adam doesn't get." That doesn't mean I don't believe there are certain opportunities he doesn't get for that reason - IMO it's unrealistic to assume that's never a factor. Of course I don't know the reason he hasn't sung the Anthem, nor do I know if he's been asked and has refused. All I do know is (1) he sang the Anthem at sporting events prior to AI; (2) a snippet of his gorgeous performance of the Anthem at Miramar was shown on AI, demonstrating to all and sundry that he is capable of singing the hell out of it; (3) it is a common gig for Idol alumni; (4) given Adam's post-Idol popularity, combined with his demonstrated ability to sing the song, it would seem likely he'd be an obvious choice to sing the Anthem for at least one reasonably high-profile event, and (5) he has not done so. That would imply he has either refused all offers (which is something we'll never know unless he says so), or there is a reason he hasn't been asked. If the latter, homophobia/AMA backlash/whatever the hell you want to call it would strike me as a pretty damn logical reason. I don't think it's so reactionary to come to that conclusion.

Mark Moore is a record producer with Sony music. Adam hasn't really cracked the British market, so maybe something is being discussed. Any of you know more? Mark Moore is a British dance music record producer and DJ. He is not currently signed to nor working for Sony Music Entertainment. He wrote and produced some hit dance songs in the late 80's and early 90's -- but only really club hits in the US. (Acid House music -- not a place Adam seems to be heading.) I would be surprised if Adam was working with him and he would not be someone who could do much to help in break into the UK market. Mark Moore's list UK hit song was in 1996. Moore does write some magazine articles in the UK.

Well that youtube explains it all. I remember this version being discussed moons ago. Has every thing Adam ever done been videod or photographed? How is that he never had a sex tape?
