I could pass on that -- nothing against Alison or her current effort with Halo Circus -- just something I do not want to imagine. 1. Boring -- been there, done that. [Halo Circus sounds a lot like Alison's 2010 solo act to me.] 2. I saw her too many times during GNT. [Most people are not insane like me so that is just my problem.] 3. The buzz/press would be all about Idol -- since both Adam and Alison are from Idol. 4. From a genre standpoint, not the best opener for Adam. He is promoting a pop album -- best to tour with pop artists. Halo Circus is pop-ROCK. [Basically the music is the 2015 version of rock music.] 5. Halo Circus is not big enough to tour with Adam. At best they would be an opening, opening act -- a status where they would hve to pay to be on a tour. >> I do not thing Alison wants to tour. I believe she wants to stay in LA but I do not follow her that closely so that may be out-of-date info. I can't see it happening anyway. If Adam has an opening act(s) or co-tours, I would expect it to be with someone who has a major label contract and tour support. The only common exception to that is someone with a large following who can sell tickets. Alison fits neither. ** I will reserve my imagination for other touring mates. I'm with you! Adam wants to play Arena, Alison's not going to help him do that and... it's not going to bring new fans.

I love this interview. The DJs were really doing their homework. I think so far they're the best radio DJs that interviewed Adam. It's more than once now Adam said that for him Queen is Freddie, Brian, Roger and John. I know in the past some fans wanted Q+AL's just be Queen, but now we get a clear view of what's in Adam's mind. And his view's going to make a lot of Queen fans happy.

Apple, Spotify Face New Rival in Race for Exclusive Music

WeTransfer, with 85 million users, introduces Web music player Dutch DropBox competitor is using songs to fuel U.S. growth Apple Inc., Spotify Ltd. and Jay-Z have some new competition in the race for exclusive songs and music videos: the Dutch file-sharing service WeTransfer. WeTransfer, which serves 85 million users each month, will announce plans for a new music player at an event in Los Angeles on Wednesday, according to Maarten Kadiks, a marketing executive at the company. Prince, Big Grams and Disclosure have already released songs and videos on WeTransfer, and the company hopes to land more exclusives with the new feature. While WeTransfer has no plans to make money from music, the company aims to compete with major streaming services, social networks and video sites like Vevo for potential hits. It’s also using music to differentiate itself from larger competitors, like Dropbox Inc., as it begins to expand in the U.S. Its pay service is most popular among people working in video who need to move large files. WeTransfer allows free transfers of files of up to two gigabytes. “We’re using music to put us on the map,” Kadiks said. “Six years ago we started out in Europe, and that is where we see the biggest amount of users. The U.S. is taking over in terms of growth.” WeTransfer raised $25 million in February from Highland Capital Partners Europe, which valued the company at more than $100 million, Kadiks said. WeTransfer generates half of its sales from advertising, and the other half from its subscription service. The company has reached out to representatives for Justin Bieber, Pharrell and Madonna about using the service to promote and preview upcoming projects. Artists can advertise themselves to WeTransfer users via a rotating group of screen backgrounds that change every 45 seconds. Artists are more likely to use WeTransfer to release mixes, rough cuts and music videos than entire albums, Kadiks said, comparing the service to SoundCloud, where anyone can post a track. The company will rely on investor and entertainment executive Troy Carter to help recruit talent. Carter, the chief executive officer of Atom Factory, manages Meghan Trainor and Kamasi Washington. “The service can become one of the most popular, alternative digital distribution channels for music content,” Kadiks said. “Musicians we’re having conversations with understand the value of connecting with our audience of creative tastemakers.” (An earlier version of this story was corrected to replace Danish with Dutch.) Before it's here, it's on the Bloomberg Terminal.

A bit OT, but... classicrock.teamrock.com/news/2015-11-17/blackmore-s-romero-shocked-at-rainbow-callAdam connection? Here is a relatively unknown guy who gets called to front a legendary band with a legendary guitar hero. I suspect his Deep Purple and Dio covers on YouTube might have had something to do with it. Ritchie Blackmore describes him as a cross of Dio and Freddie Mercury. Romero auditions for the gig and convinces his future boss by singing "Who Wants To Live Forever"... He will be replacing not one, but several legends - if the band plays both Deep Purple and Rainbow songs, then he has to compete with the shadows of Ian Gillan, David Coverdale, Ronnie James Dio (RIP), Graham Bonnet, and Joe Lynn Turner, all at once. And possibly even Doogie White (who was in his shoes 10 years ago). I hear that the haters are in full force on various boards already... To my ears, he sounds more like a cross of Dio+Coverdale. Should be pretty convincing in the role, but I don't think he will shine as a unique artist like some people we stan do. I am cautiously optimistic though, and very happy another of my favorite childhood bands will be playing live next year!

We're searching for the NEXT #BreakoutBand! Enter to WIN an audition with Warner @wbr A&R: buff.ly/1MNOW2q Adam to judge Interesting... Adam as a "judge". This competition confuses me though -- I expected the prize to be a Warner record deal, but instead, it is just an offer to perform in front of Warner talent scouts, and another offer to promote one of the winners' songs nationwide. I think they don't want to make a commitment before they see the talent. If they're really good and WBR think they can make something out of that talent, they might offer them a record deal or something.
