Probably for the same reason they wanted to pair Adam on a tour with Demi. They want to expand his fanbase. They want Adam to pick up some of those younger fans( Hi - Can't comment on Oz but I remember Adam saying at Glamnation Auckland "You all are so YOUNG!"and sounding very surprised. He was not referring to me btw). There was the whole range of ages there but definitely heaps of children. Before the show as it was filling up there kids with hula hoops and some were in their pyjamas. (This could also be an example of some mighty casual parenting by kiwis dragging their kids around late at night but I prefer the positive spin!) Well, I hope it doesn't curtail the use of all the "fux"....lol. (will have to go back to that last Auckland show and see what he did) Nothing against children...usually, lol ...but I'll never understand bringing small kids to this kind of show. I guess some of it is "casual parenting" or maybe they don't have anyone to keep their kids, like a husband or mother, etc. It's not something I would do....JMHO, etc. Besides, who wants to be distracted during an AFL show tending to a child or a DH for that matter. (Been there, done that.....one time.. only time) lol

I haven't been to many shows in recent years, but I'm always unhappy to see little kids (and even an infant once) without ear protection! As someone with just mild tinnitus, I wouldn't wish that on anyone. (Took the former 8-year-old to the GNT show in Puyallup. He didn't wear ear protection. The Army already damaged his hearing.)

I took my daughter to Glamnation and now she's 14 and coming to the next show also. She did a school project this year on Adam when the class were looking at stereotypes/prejudice/social values and she is a big fan. Yes to the hearing protection! Bamafan thinking about your comment "this kind of show" - I think i haven't made my point strongly enough that the kids were there (hopefully) because they were fans, because the music was fun to dance to and sing along to. They may not be experiencing the whole sex god package the same we some of us do, but they can still get an awesome concert experience at their level. I assume the younger fan base in NZ is being recognised by this opening act.

Yes, he did US TV Promos for both. And I hope you are right that there is TV Promo for ALN in the US cause that means that it is a big hit. IIHY - Tour Promo song -- IIHY promo was May 2010 and used to kick off his tour promo. Tour announced April 28, 2010 -- IIHY released in May 11, 2010 with some big performances -- Ellen, Jay Leno. (He did another round of IIHY performances in the fall of 2010.) > Just because I love FYE, I feel obligated to point out that IIHY was Single #3, not Single #2. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) Although it was really sort of single #2. NCOE - Album promo song -- NCOE was pre-album release and used to promote the album. So really not the same as IIHY or ALN. *** Not saying US TV performances of ALN will not happen -- just that I think the next wave of performance will be related to the US Tour and not single #2 promo. I think they will keep their strongest TV Promo bookings for the US Tour Promo which I hope line up with the release of single #3 TOH and April-May 2016. [Of course, if ALN is huge and takes over the pop radio charts, then it will be the tour announcement promo song.] Regarding timing -- February - May seems possible to me. I doubt they have a schedule yet. Seems like a US Tour would be after the QAL festivals -- so promo in April-May seems more like than February to me. *** The above is based on what is "typically" done, and we have all learned that Adam is not typical, his singles are not typical, he is special. Adam is in EU April into May. If he does US TV next year it would have to be Feb/March. Idol won't go live until very end of Feb or around March 1st. That would leave the early llve rounds for him to sing his own song, ALN. Mentor would be nice too! In May, after EU, there us probably time left for the Big Idol Finale. I definitely expect him to do Ellen again. I think we are agreeing but you may have missed my point. I do not expect Adam to be on US TV promoting ALN. That does not mean that I think he will never perform ALN on US TV. >> On the other hand, Adam is performing ALN on UK TV to promote the song. If he was doing US TV Promo for ALN it would need to be in December and he really has limited time available until the Holidays. He has two big schedule breaks -- both are after the song will be on US radio for months. Feb 1 - April 12 - only one event Redfest DBX in Dubai on Feb 21. By Feb 1 either ALN will be a hit or not. (Looks like it will be a hit on radio -- only question now is how big will it be.) An Idol appearance in this time period seems possible and ALN seems like it could be performed -- if it is a hit. Otherwise he could perform Ghost Town because he will perform a hit song or a new song. ALN will not be new in March 2016. May 7 - June 11 -- Seems likely this would be the time for US Tour Promo, also the Idol Final Finale should be Mid-May. (I do not believe the dates are announced yet.) By mid-May I hope he is releasing and promoting TOH. So if they can get him a booking on Ellen, seem more likely to me that it will be in May and used to promo his upcoming tour.
