With Amazon losing $3.2 million and selling $440K with the 99cent sale, I doubt they will do that again. Gaga wanted bragging rights. She is projected to sell 1 million the first week, so she can compete with Taylor Swift and a few others. What is sad, is that when all is said and done, when they are quoting stats in some article in the future or on billoard, the price will never enter the picture, only the 1 million sales of the first week. She is cunning as a fox and can afford to be cunning becasue this will generate tour tickets. I am no longer Gaga's fan. She steals too much from other artists and has become so full of herself. Read an article today in the latest Rolling Stone magazine issue Katy Perry and Robyn, both will be touring together soon. KP is another one who has become too big for her britches. I told my kids and several of their friends about the 99c deal. NONE was interested in getting the album EVEN for 99c (ages 18-21). I remember they used to be crazy about her - that was at the time of the Bad Romance...So, I am not sure what is happening... Unfortunately Adam is off their radar completely...may be one day... After the board I was on for 11 yrs closed I kept in contact with a couple of people via e-mail and then was invited to join their board. It is a gay board and they love Gaga. They feel she brings visibility to gay issues. Her songs, her charity, and the kind of things like what she did with Target. She may not be to the liking of the people here but she is very talented. Let's not forget she has 10 million followers. As far as younger audiences, there was a group of my twitter followers that waited over 12 hrs for her in Central Pk last week. And they had tickets. They are in their early 20's. "Gorgeous" came from Germany to see Gaga (OK, he pretends that he came to visit me but if I didn't have Gaga tickets I bet the trip would have been at another time.) He bows at the alter of Gaga like we bow at the alter of Adam (he also loves Adam). Just like we get up in the middle of the night to hear Adam, he gets up in the middle of the night (time diff) to hear a Gaga release. For him, it may the Gaga/gay thing. But the group in Central Park are young straight ladies. ("Gorgeous" is college-aged.) I think each board has its own meme. On this board there is a lot of Gaga hate. It reminds me of the boards I was on during Idol. One board hated Paula. The other board loved Paula. As much as you think we are a diverse group here, you'd be surprised on how the group usually has a majority opinion. For me, I love Gaga. But since she is not Adam, it doesn't bother me that she is not liked here. I have the gay board to chat about her and I have "Gorgeous".

Pastababy I wouldn't put it so strong as hate for Gaga, a dislike is more like it. I was a Gaga fan but I am now totally turned off by her lack of realness and now the obvious lifting from other artists and claiming it as her own and that she is revolutionary.

Angelina Kalahari has posted a new article on her soundbath blog. It is entitled: Broken Open: Adam Lambert; The agony and ecstasy of singing. It is a great read! In it she says, "Of course we know that Adam is a magnificent, highly skilled, extremely intelligent, versatile, uninhibited, utterly fearless performer, that he is uniquely talented and enormously creative, that he is physically and spiritually unearthly beautiful, and that he is one of the most charming, charismatic, courageous and sensual humans ever to walk this earth, but for me, his astonishing vocal instrument is the thing I cannot get enough of. When I hear his voice, I find myself utterly captivated: I have to stop what I’m doing and give his voice my full attention – I never dare listen to his CD in the car! I experience his voice like a sound bath: it washes through every fibre of my being, and it feels as though the harmonics and frequencies in his voice massages all of me, right down to the very smallest quark that makes up my physical body, and right down to the tiniest wisp that makes up my soul. I have never had that experience when listening to any other voice before – I’ve listened to some pretty good ones and have had the privilege to be very close to some of the most beautiful and renowned voices in the world today, and I remain astonished by the effect Adam‘s voice has on me." Since we are all waiting for news about WITWICGAFL, check it out. soundbath.wordpress.com/2011/05/30/broken-open-adam-lambert-the-agony-and-ecstasy-of-singing/

Well, like so many other things, I don't think you can generalize. I love Gaga, and since I'm broke I was thrilled that Amazon offered her CD for a buck. I love it, it's been on replay since I bought it.
I love Gaga less when she's talking, so I've just resolved to stop clicking on articles where she pontificates about her art and it makes it easy to keep loving her music LOL.
ETA: I know she gets some criticism here, and I usually disagree with it in my head, but I don't stan her like I do Adam so I don't normally feel the compunction to jump into those conversations. Maybe I'm not the only one?

I do not bow at the Gaga alter. Some of her antics bother me too. But I think she is extremely talented. I enjoy most of her music and she puts on one helluva show. edit: And, yes, some of the posts have been quite hateful. Maybe not today, but they have been. It's OK. It's not a battle I care to fight. Q3 comment -- If anyone posts hateful posts here, they vanish.I think there is a big space between not liking an artist and hating them.
And just a reminder -- Gaga + Adam = OK here; just Gaga would not be. So back to Adam. Thx.
