YAY!!! I got two tickets for Queenbert in Cologne!!! Phew, this time it was really difficult! I wanted to get good seats in the lower rank and everytime I clicked on two seats and wanted to put them in my shopping cart, it suddenly said that those seats weren't available anymore! I almost freaked out! I guess there were lots of fans trying at the same time and clicking on the same seats as me! But after trying several times, now I got two good seats in the upper part of the lower rank directly at the side of the stage! I already called my DH at work and he is happy, too!!!

So happy for all of our members who have scored some great tickets to see QAL this coming summer. Hope the continued interest to have QAL headline large events across the Atlantic translates into some return engagements in North America. As much as I want the dates for the TOH tour, would love to see QAL perform live again. Safe travels to all those heading out today for the Thanksgiving Holiday. I am thankful for all of the joy, new friends and music Adam has brought to me SO FAR this year - . Now if I could just get my family to understand -

A snapshot right now of Adam's career gauge might show that the needle is pointing more toward Queen + Adam Lambert than solo Adam Lambert. But I also believe Adam when he says he is still just getting started with TOH. I have my fingers and toes crossed for ALN. Same for TOH. I hope something is ahead that none of us (and maybe even Adam himself) doesn't know about yet in terms of co-tour/appearance, collab, opening, whatever.
But altho I am a pop music lover (much more than a classic rock lover) I recognize that the opportunity with Queen is There Right Now (and won't be forever). I know Adam is getting to sing some of the most recognizable and exciting (popular) rock songs ever. Who doesn't know "Bo Rhap" or "We Will Rock You" or even "Pressure" - even if they don't know that is "Queen" music, they know stompstompclap/stompstompclap. As Adam said, people know it from . . . sports! (I think it's kinda funny that Adam feels no connection to sports at all but is singing songs so integral to many' people's arena experience of it and that EITN is being played on NFL football - and fits perfectly).
Adam has always taken big, big risks requiring tons of self- belief and self-respect - otherwise he'd be a Mac make-up consultant! The people who love Adam, love him more than any fan could (his "first fans," I think his father said), have given him 110% loving advice that he did NOT take (I remember him saying his mom suggested maybe he should apologize for AMA) - that's one of the gazillion things I admire about him. It really takes something special to go for it, all of it, the way he does. I love that about him, I aspire to just a small percentage of his guts.
I guess I am trying to say I believe Adam is doing everything in his power to fully, rightfully, self-respectfully give his audience(s) what he has by doing/giving everything he authentically can, when he can, where he can, etc. I am glad he knows how to go "shield up" when he needs it, because there are a lot of people and opinions in the world and there is always someone ready to write him OFF for everything from a missed "wave" (ffs) to his fondness for "bad" words and tequila to every music and business decision he makes or doesn't make.
I think everyone should just love him! (Really, how is that hard? Ha!)

So it looks like this time around QAL is making it a tour of huge music festivals. I get the impression that this is new for Queen? Perhaps thirty years ago there were few if any of these mammoth festivals? I know that Queen filled stadiums on their own, but these festivals extend their reach beyond their own fan population to rock and pop music fans in general. Sort of like "boys and girls, THIS is how you do it! Watch and learn."
Without a doubt, these huge QAL gigs have enhanced the recognition, respect, and appreciation for Adam. It has been the best PR a great singer could hope for. Singing the Queen catalog also provides Adam with a vocal challenge even his own concerts don't approach, plus they allow him to indulge in as much drama, camp and theatricality as his heart desires.
I am hoping and imagining that it also has given Adam much increased financial security which will allow him to take on projects that might not be as profitable, but will stretch him and grow him in other ways. So, my question is, just how much do these QAL gigs actually net Adam? I understand that we don't know the exact figures, but, those who understand the industry better than me, can you guesstimate how much Adam can actually put in his bank account for each arena gig? And for each festival appearance with QAL? Are we talking $10,000? $50,000? $100,000? More?
I acknowledge that it is really none of my business any more than knowing whom Adam invites home for the evening or where he goes on vacation, etc. But, just as we Glamberts want the best for him in terms of radio success and critical acclaim, I want him to have the greatest financial success to assure him comfortable freedom in his life and plenty of boots and dimmer switches. So, what do y'all think?
