Assuming ALN is 51, should end up at 49 for official Top 40 published. SIA just won't cooperate & go away! :(

I need to say this and this is the only place that seems appropriate, I hope you guys don't mind.
I have decided that Justin Beiber is the Donald HeWhoCannot amed of the pop world. He is self-aggrandizing, entitled, petulant, and doesn't care who he insults. The press hates him, yet can't seem to stop giving him attention, and no matter how much negative press he gets or what tiresome hackneyed thing he says/sings, he goes straight to the top of the polls/charts pushing out more accomplished individuals who have so much more to give (this does not include Ted Cruz, do not get me started). His fans are almost masochistically loyal and he keeps them by showing an occasional glimpse of brilliance that draws them back in, ready to be stepped on again. Crazy.

Linda, I am not a Beiber fan & never will be. He is all the things you describe & I like to stan artists that are good human beings, as well as being talented. That being said, his new album is damn good. I am not surprised at the number of singles it has had in a short time. Will II ever buy anything of his? No way! Will ge be around in 10 years? No way!  |

Chart update from the Netherlands. Ghost Town:
Single Top 100: #83 (from #71) (29 weeks, peak #8) Another Lonely Night:
Slam 40: #34 (from #32) (10 weeks, peak #10) I was surprised by the small drop that ALN did in that Slam chart. Especially since the only plays ALN got during the week were on the weekend. Apparently ALN is still creating some buss somewhere even with very little Airplay (it also hardly dropped in the Shazam chart). We'll have to see how high it ends up next week. GT is slowly dropping in Spotify (currently outside top 100) so I'm not sure if it will last another week on the Single Top 100. GT is however doing great again in iTunes after Adam's appearance on the Voice last Friday (#44 now and also got to #41 again). Spotify is more important for the chart position though. Radio Veronica is currently doing their Top 1000 of all times and GT sadly didn't make it into that list. WWFM is however on that list on #690 (from #715 last year en #774 the year before). Veronica plays WWFM quite often still. Before they played the song today they played Adam's audition on Idol and commented that his star is still rising! I couldn't agree more! Also happy to report that GT made it into the Top 2000 of Radio 2.  This is the most important list in the Netherlands at the end of the year and got 4.5 million people voting this year. The list started in 1999 and has been getting more popular each year. This year also a lot of young people voted and that resulted in a lot of new music. The position of GT will be announced on December 16th, but I'm not expecting a very high spot. Bohemian Rhapsody is #2 in that list after being #1 in most years (Imagine is #1 because of Paris). ETA: The big drop of GT in the last few days is explained by the streaming of children's songs for the celebration of Sinterklaas this weekend. About 56 places in front of GT are taken by these songs. Also a few Christmas songs are popping up already. |
