"......The rise of Sheeran—an affable but unlikely star who plays acoustic-guitar-based songs, hardly the kind of stuff a young pop audience traditionally goes for—seems to have opened the door for other like-minded aspirants to make the transatlantic crossing: Ireland’s Hozier, who had a major left-field hit last year with the song “Take Me to Church” and recently played his first Coachella to a sizable crowd, and England’s James Bay and George Ezra—the latter of whom, like Sam Smith before him, managed to land a coveted spot on Saturday Night Live months before wider American audiences were even aware of his music. The thing they share is that they’ve all been presented from the get-go as thoughtful, self-determined artists, not pop flashes in the pan." I would not mind at all if Adam went into an even more organic direction. It's very believable and commanding when he does that. May be the overwhelmingly positive responses from covering a subdued but very heartfelt country song are a way to tell him something I love "The Original High" because it's more restrained but I think that he could go even further into that direction. This is just my own personal opinion, but .... NOOOOOOOOO !!!! Less restraint please, let out your inner beast, Adam !!!! Isn't it great how we all have such different opinions. haha... different opinions are healthy. And Adam does what he wants anyways (nor would I try to tell him what to do). Still, I am very drawn to a more organic sound especially on recorded music.

Totally OT but there were two 'Adam songs' on the voice tonight. Cher's 'Believe' and Jordan sang 'Somebody to Love'. Adam Levine said 'That's one of the best thing I've ever heard'. When instructing Jordan in rehearsal Levine totally copied Adam's 'love' rift which makes me think he has seen our Adam sing it. Jordan didn't do anything like the rifting our Adam does, who could? Jordan's rendition was great but not in the same class as our Adams IMO. I'm kind of pissed off that Jordan will get all these accolades on prime time tv when there are so many better QAL versions on youtube. I'm with ya, but I suggest you brace yourself as Jordan's STL is sitting at #1 on iTunes right now and the Believe cover is at #4.

"There I said it" was indeed heartfelt tonight. I was 6 rows from the stage--saw theosgma, Q3 and hubby, Dancy, vickisusanne, and I sat next to a woman from Sandusky OH that I had met @qalin Auburn Hills. Many of the usual suspects attended--no lack of enthusiasm. It is funny how you sort of recognize people, or think you do. I find it interesting that there are "leftovers" from previous tours: glow lights, those flashing lights on a bracelet, all manner of Adam shirts, a few signs, and glitter and dark nail polish are still sported by some. I saw QAL shirts, too. Some people dressed up in a Christmassy way.
First singer Brian Johnson was a top 12 Voice contestant on levine's team this year. Poor guy didn't know how to tell the spotlight guy to turn down the lights and he spent much of his thankfully only 3 songs wiping his face with a bandanna--a large boy/man; he reminded me a little of Michael Sarver. He wore old jeans and a stretchy t shirt and the smallest, most wrinkled blue shirt that did not begin to cover his girth. He has a pleasant voice.
Echosmith is very energetic and seem quite talented. I guess one of their songs Cool Kids got some radio play. The girl reminds me a little of Anna Kendrick--they can actually harmonize.
Adam's band seems to really enjoy playing for/with him. Terrance and Dani are smoothing out their moves. Everyone stood for the entire performance and he loved the energy. There was a male gay couple in front of me who fell in love this year and were a very happy couple who seemed somewhat overwhelmed by the more extroverted Glamberts. There was a 40ish woman and her 75 yr old Mom who sat on the other side of me and they stood and danced their way through the entire concert--the mom out danced her DD.
The DJ's weren't obnoxious, and one of the producer's brother runs a restaurant and met some hard-core Glamberts who wrote an adamized Night Before Christmas. (Their Literary license should probably be revoked--just saying.) Adam loves singing his own songs, and he received a lot of love back from the audience. The shirt was cool and it fits him like the b/w stripe one does, the big blck sparkly ring was striking because it mimicked his shirt. I'm not talking about the music, but this is a great TISI, and hopefully Dancy got some good audio.

Just got back from the show. Adam was outstanding! For my first time seeing him solo, I was blown away and was super close. I have tons of pics. It was worth flying cross country to see him!
