@shoshannastone and sooo excited to see someone visiting tomorrow too in the middle of recording their new album! I love weeks like this! I don't follow her, but I see she retweeted Adam's London stroll pic from yesterday, too. Didn't someone say she was no longer involved with Adam's team? I think you remember correct. Is she even with Sony? I remember folks tweeting nasty stuff to her, but really how do we suppose to know more about the UK market? She is involved with a new PR firm.... I find it hard to believe TPTB would willingly be setting him up for failure. Personally I much prefer to wallow in his love life and what he is wearing than to try to manage his career. YMMV

Is this official merch? I see some shirts with pics of him on it and isn't it like, illegal, to sell merchandise with the person's image on it? I only see two images of Adam and they are both drawings..the sleepwalker one and the one with him on the floor..she also provides a link to the offical site to buy merch. I don't know if this is legal..anyone? It is a really complex area of law. Here is a good summary of the situation. But my take is that it is not a black and white area of the law. www.citmedialaw.org/legal-guide/using-name-or-likeness-anotherTo me, this seems like original artwork that incorporates Adam's image and I could make a first amendment argument that supports it. To me it comes down to 2 questions for Adam: 1. Even if it was illegal, if Adam sued to stop this particular case what would he gain? I think he would just get a lot of bad press and a few angry fans. 2. What about all the fansites and YouTube videos etc that use his image? Most of the avatars on this site use his image. Just because it is non-commercial does not make use of protected material legal Anyway, sometimes it is not about legal/illegal, it is about right and wrong. This doesn't seem like a crass attempt to cash in on Adam, it seems more like a fan's effort to promote him. JMHO YMMV.

No I never said it was a crass attempt to cash in on him I was just wondering if seeling stuff with his image or not broke any laws. Obviously I am not a lawyer, I was just curious. I'm sure a lot of fans make stuff like this for their fav artist.

Fans unfairly bashed her for the UK mess which was not her fault. It was not her job to get Adam on BBC Radio. I think from the beginning Sony UK knew that they were going to have a problem with UK radio -- otherwise why did they send Adam on that very unusual UK radio tour. All I can come up with is that they were trying to work around the BBC. The idea that Adam -- a gay American singer famous because of American Idol with a glam-pop album -- was going to take the UK by storm just by showing up was fan delusion. He is still relatively unknown in the UK, they have reality TV/Cowell overload in the UK, and it is not a gay-friendly market. The fact that Adam is going to see Shoshanna Stone leads me to believe this is a promo visit to the UK.

Q3, what about people who sell homemade DVD's on twitter for $10.00 or more... using You Tube videos made by someone else..is it legal to use the vids belonging to others Q3 comment: I am not an attorney -- or an IP expert but this is copyright infringement, and in the US, Canada, UK, and many other countries has huge fines and/or prison terms associated with it. In many countries there is a special law against piracy. So if the material is copyrighted (and it all is) and the person does not have release to redistribute very, very illegal. BUT BUYING IT IS ALSO PUNISHABLE. A few artists -- most famously Fish and the Grateful Dead -- actually allow people to redistribute material from live performance. But this is rare. The copyright on compositions, performances, etc. is very clear -- this is not a gray area like a photograph of a famous person. The photograph is usually owned by the photographer. This does not apply to video of a concert performance -- different rights issues.

Why no collaborations with Adam so far? Could it be that other singers know they would be out sung? They would suffer from the comparison? Actually, that is unlikely to happen, as Adam has years of experience working with a company of singer/actors on stage and blending/complimenting them. But, other singers might not know that.
And, if Adam "dumbs down" his singing to blend with a less talented singer, that kinda defeats the purpose of him getting broader attention for his talent, doesn't it? Not sure how I feel about the idea.
