Yes, but the setlist ahs IIHY & Tresp as the encore. So he just did it w/o leaving the stage. Same, same! |

WOW! I love the staging and show. Rumors and Runnin'!!  I love {almost} everything!! That long tunic is great!! But who let the WTF cherry tree suit out of his closet? Seriously awful. I hope that it is just for Asia. (And hopefully he will not be wearing aqua board shorts and a straw hat in Oz.) I don't mind the cherry blossom suit, but if i had to guess, i'd say that he has several suits in his luggage that he can interchange for that section of the show. Same with the jeans/t-shirt combo. He is smart to have outfits that he can interchange depending on venue/climate/etc. I LOVE the tunic in the first act - so dramatic. The dancers coordinate, so hopefully that one will stay constant. The whole thing was amazing and now i am feeling so greedy about some US shows. Come on Adam - make the announcement already :-) |

I know we have gotten just snippets and blurry videos so far, but..... yes, I AM impressed. This is so much more interesting, diverse, and vocally centric than his radio shows. Grander. More vocally challenging. Making better use of his instrument.
TBH, IMHO, YMMV, etc. but in Era #3 I've heard Adam change his voice to sound more pop-y, top 40, and, to me, generic. A different placement of the tone which results in less resonance, ring and fullness. Abbreviated phrases that didn't allow that voice to soar. Even less proper breath control at times in the effort to sound less refined? A couple of times I was even worried this way of singing that he was exploring would damage his voice in the long run. (Don't shoot the messenger, and you may disagree. It is just what my ears and mind heard.)
From what I have heard of this concert, his technique, his placement, his resonance, and his breath control were all totally on point. Plus, he has added richness to his lower register and is using it to great advantage. The low phrases are warm and chocolate-y. Then, as he goes up, and up, and up into his mid and higher range, the tone gets brighter, more brilliant and ringing. All the things I love about that man's voice, technique, and mastery.
He also has designed a fun, interesting, introspective, and dance worthy set of songs in various styles, so the whole thing sounds fresh. I am thrilled!

OK....we only get almost 2:10 minutes of Runnin before it medley's into Chokehold for about 1 1/2 minutes or until this clip cuts off it sounds like it is segueing into Sleepwalker when it cuts off. This is going to be my all time favorite medley!!! |
