Did a quick speed read before I have to go to an event.

Regarding Twitter reporting and blocking. Twitter IS an actual company with actual people working there. All you do when you report someone is put them up for review for abusive or harassing behavior. I would imagine they're put into a priority queue. If a bunch of complaints are coming in at once, that account will be first for review and likely they have a set list of criteria to discern what is an is not acceptable.

They will make the judgment call like any company that has to make these assessments. That's why it takes a long time to have people removed even when they are saying seriously reprehensible things. There are many accounts to manage and investigate.

Twitter has also said (in the guidelines someone posted), they don't block IP addresses, even if someone's account is removed (I forget why, but they had a legit reason IIRC), so the offending accounts can delete and reappear with another name in seconds. That's why troll accounts rarely have any followers and they follow only a few. Their entire existence is there to troll and they are like roaches. You kill one and a couple more pop up.

Hopefully, like trolls, they eventually get bored. Even if some other fanbase organized some street team attack on Adam, the people at Twitter would go into his account to review it and say, : : : Obvs. a lame hate campaign, and they could also easily track back to find out who were the perpetrators who organized it – even if they have locked accounts.

I would imagine some people would get a strongly worded email with a, "Let's not play these games again, shall we?" YouTube can delete an account with three strikes and all the vids on that channel will be blocked and CANNOT be reposted again unless they are heaviliy edited.

Twitter has thus far been pretty generous with this type of thing, but it's well within their rights and scope of technology to start suspending accounts if they so choose.
