I went to this feed and I think it is ridiculous to start 'blocking' everyone who does not like Adam. We here are the first to yell 'freedom of expression'....I did not look through everything but this person was not being horrific...nasty...do not like..but not deserving of banning just for what I saw. If you ban every negative voice you dilute the impact of banning and move into 'cray' territory. This person has sent out 70 tweets [if I remember correctly] and has either 6 followers or 2...don't remember which number was following and which was follower....either way, completely harmless. Don't waste precious cred and ammunition on minnows....save it for when it is important. JMHO I wrote this as I read the thread so apologies if it has already been addressed... |

I went to this feed and I think it is ridiculous to start 'blocking' everyone who does not like Adam. Hello Atopians! I am bringing this over from the end of yesterday's thread.
We've said many times Adam's community is part of Adam's great gift to his fans. Atopians have soo much to give each other. I just feel strongly that everyone here has treasures to share; wisdom, experiences learned from good times and from hardship, knowledge. I would like to step onto a small soapbox and say to all here at Atopia. WE ARE ALL human and as such "imperfect." Let us here at Atopia at the very least not feel we need to hide things from each other. May Atopia personal thread be a place where Atopians feel free to share all the parts of ourselves, knowing what a special community it truly is. This down time is a perfect opportunity to do so. If there is a fear about bringing pieces of the harder part of life into this Adamtopia happy world think of it this way. The main thread is for Adam stuff. It is and will remain the pure joy thread. What you share in the personal thread with others may actual feel like lightening a load when you find that others are handling similar things. You can ask! Is anyone else dealing with ------? You never know what you may find. It would be a crime to have this community and not share the wisdom of the members. We can say that what is said in the personal thread stays in the personal thread. So it is its own safe little nest. (OK, off the soapbox.)

I expect Adam to be writing and recording his album through August. I bet he ends up with between 30-40 songs to choose from(given that he already has 20 in the can). They will use Sept/Oct to finalize artwork/design and tweeks to album tracks. Releasing the album in mid Nov to take advantage of the Holiday sales season. I think the first single will drop in early Oct. Just my guess!  |

JMHO I am wondering if this a valuable conversation to have...and where would it be appropriate to have it. I am pretty new to twitter myself and do not always know how to find or do things. Is it easy for any stranger to come to your twitter, decide they do not like it and target you for removal? If it is that easy and it happens as often as it seems...honestly...I think I will just shut it down and consider it an experiment that failed, for me. I agree and see that some pretty horrible stuff is sent to Adam and all celebrities. I am completely appalled at what I read in the comments sections of youtube vids and internet blogs. And I am happy when I see the real nasties removed or condemned. And I am 100% behind blocking someone who twits out threats or tries to mobilize hate campaigns. I seriously do not understand this part of twitter and would welcome a clearer understanding of the criteria for these actions and the need for them. This is not about this particular person or persons...I just feel uncomfortable having this kind of power or having someone decide to use it against me for some reason. What if James decided to mobilize his fanbase to have one or more of us 'removed' from twitter because we called him an idiot..a bigot..a liar..[all these occurred]....is that even possible?? |
