VINYL? who still uses the old turn-tables??? I'll buy anyway cause it's Adam. Do stores still sell these record players? [grin] My FIL still uses his old one with the vacuum tubes instead of transistors! ;D But in all seriousness, they sell modern turntables at, I believe, Target that also have tape decks and USB ports embedded in the casing so you can record your old vinyl and tape albums to digital for ~$100-120. I recall they also have sockets for connecting to a decently high-end speaker system. Is it as good as the dedicated turntables? I don't know. I think they only sell really high-end turntables these days because most of the buyers are DJs or music snobs. [evil grin] I've been on the lookout for an old FisherPrice record player for my daughter. For what I intended it for, it was good enough. However, I would NOT play an Adam record on a FisherPrice!!!  |

Does anyone remember the details of the extended conversation with hwc back on Planet Fierce when he was expounding about the technical sound differences between vinyl and high quality digital formats? No, but I'll bet Kanadie can fill us in! He's an expert! |

You share a birthday with my son. DH and I flew here to Dallas for a joint celebration (my birthday was just a few days ago). We are all Geminis.....so double the pleasure.
Ok, both guys are watching the NBA finals so I don't feel guilty spending time with my second home and family, you guys are too funny!

I've got 2 turntables that are probably 35 to 40 years old in my basement. Can anyone say Packrat ;D
And I hope we get an oasis in this desert of boredom soon. I'm getting tired of riding this camel

Reading the news threads the past couple of days was like watching an episode of Seinfeld...pages and pages about NOTHING! Nothing except...great pictures of Adam ;D...disturbingly disturbing pictures of cats and Gokey  ...and ? smiling salami ?? Thanks for the entertainment, folks..I needed a few laughs today and if it be at the expense of some bologna, OK> SO SEINFELD, Quietlion!!
