Not sure why labels pick the singles they do! I am assuming that the first one they picked for DC was because they thought it was the most radio friendly. I haven't listened to clips, for the new album, but others have and have seen some performed live and have said there are 2 others they consider much better choices. I will say one thing, though. It looks like RCA is doing a great media blitz for him. Big party in NYC the day of release and an appearance on the Today show. Adam will have a bigger advanatge because shows that are on hiatus for summer, like Ellen, will be back when Adam 2 is released. . It's good that RCA is doing a great media blitz for him, otherwise when it's time for Adam to do his promo tour, I don't want to hear from Cook's fans that RCA's treating Adam better than Cook, or they've used all the promo budget for Adam or those nasty tweets for fans to RCA promo bla.. bla.. bla.. Okay.. I feel better.. now.. the best part... Catz...  How about another chocolate cake this year??? ;D |

They are over the top. Most Adam fans are wishing they would go away and just stan Tommy. Twitter is a flutter right now. oh, come on. This is so ridiculous, it doesn't even annoy me, seriously. Q3 do you KNOW that Adam was in Miami til Wednesday and is now in LA? Or are you speculating?  SIX MONTHS til the Album drops???? Wut? And he (RCAED) said he only hopes for that. Why would it take that long - hasn't Adam already done 20 songs? Rhetoricalquestion, that. >:( Re David Cook: Why would RCA pick a "weak" song for the lead single? Shouldn't they have their finger on the pulse of what will fly? And wasn't Cook sent back to the drawing board by RCA once or twice? I'm only his album as it relates to Adam2. I hope RCA gets their shizz together. Heh. I see my post is all questions. Just getting caught up. I am 90% sure Adam left Miami for LA on Weds. I do not have a photo but multiple good sources. On the Cook album -- I think that the online fan merchandising may be similar -- RCA Ed is responsible for both. But that is where the similarities end. The label picks the best single they have for radio -- but for all the talk about research, it is usually based on expert opinion. And they are wrong sometimes. If a label has another great option they usually switch when a song doesn't get airplay. But not always. I have only listened to the samples of Cooks new album tracks but this may be the best song they have -- a great pop track would stand out even in a short clip and I could not find one. Cook is being pushed to HAC and AC markets, and primarily doing radio promos. His music video is not in any rotation on VH1 -- just "on". Adam will most likely be pushed to CHR/Top 40 and HAC, and be promoted with TV and Video -- and of course online. Two different artists, both with RCA, both from Idol, and different as night and day. |
