I am quite ignorant in things like this. Can you enlighten me? What is the significance of performing at the pre-Grammy gala? I mean YESSS Adam performing! And YESSS! Many industry people present there! And YESSS! Many pictures and news cycle! But could he get opportunities out of this? And is this a big thing? Obviously singing at the Grammy gala gives him a bigger exposure to the general public, but just wondering whether this might work for him in other ways? Except for the fact that it is just way cool to have him out there, of course. The pre-Grammy gala won't make a difference toward the general public, at least not directly, but I'm sure that Adam made some not insignificant connections and likely impressed with more than his singing talent. He looked smashing and we know how charming he can be. Yes! So win win win! Thank y'all that explained a bit more about this event today, linking articles etc. This performance was a BIG thing!

This pretty much quashes the Gaga-Adam duet on UP -- it is just 4 seconds -- so just bass lick into "Let's Dance". This maybe stupid question. But considering how good Adam did at pre grammys. Why diddnt they consider Adam? Even with Gaga? I guess Adams not well known enough. Two stated reasons: 1. Lady Gaga was already booked to perform on the Grammys when David Bowie died. She did a great job with the Oscar's tribute to Julie Andrews, she has modeled her career on David's career, she is an excellent vocalist. 2. They already had three big tributes planned -- B. B. King, Glenn Frey (Eagles) and Maurice White (Earth Wind and Fire. So it would be difficult to add another multi-artist tribute. One unstated reason - Adam has not won a Grammy and is not nominated for a Grammy this year. It would be unusual for him to preform on the program. ETA: Getting to perform at the Clive Davis Party is HUGE. Do not underestimate how important that is.
