Nice tweet from Nile @nilerodgers: You must know by now I understand people don't always like what I like-I LOVE @adamlambert & some don't. #life Nile Rodgers added, GLAMBERT @cityofvampires1 @nilerodgers Can I be honest? respect you so much but didn't like the tribute sorry nile :-) This isn't good!...now 'some people don't like Adam Lambert' is there for all. Don't blame Nile - he is obviously disappointed in the comments he's getting. Not a big deal - And yes, she probably had the right to express how she felt, etc etc - But this brings me to a pet peeve.... If someone wants/needs to use an Internet name that clearly identifies them with Adam, then they have to consider how their behaviour reflects on him, IMHO...this tweeter didn't mention Adam but Nile knew exactly what (he believes) she meant. It instantly connected to Adam by association. If this tweeter had used a neutral name, she could have presented the same thing without any hint of another agenda. I have always wondered how much good it does, outside the bubble, for fans to use Adam related usernames. A crazy good comment outside Atop and other fansites, from someone with an 'Adam' name, is always nice.....but does it also come 'with a grain of salt' because it's clearly from a devoted fan? I always look for comments that appear to be from new fans or more casual listeners. Don't mean to offend anyone.....I love anyone and everyone who loves Adam. Just something I've always wondered aboit. Whle I am in full agreement about havinga fan identifiable name being problematic, singling her out is not really fair. Nile did a long twitter exchange with quite a few folks, pro and con. Her comment was one of many through the course of 45 minutes or so of tweets. She is just a teen, was not disrespectful and later apologized to him in case he felt hurt by her comment.

Way to go fandom. Are they trying to put the final nail in adam's career? CelebMix @celebmix 10m When one LGBT icon appreciated another. The abuse we're receiving about Sam Smith is disgusting. CelebMix Retweeted ADAM LAMBERT ADAM LAMBERT @adamlambert Oh and @samsmithworld - you look incredible! CelebMix @celebmix 9m @louisthexfactor Adam Lambert fans were attacking us for posting an article about Sam Smith being an LGBT icon.
Now I'm just cringing! Adam's fans have been criticized for being too defensive and sensitive about every comment. And this is a prime example of over-reacting and being blatantly rude. It does Adam NO FAVORS and continues to tarnish our fandom. Adam complimented Sam. That's fine. Adam is ahead of Sam as far as "opening doors" for the LGBT community, but still. They're all in the same boat. Jeez, sometimes I just want to scream. This is the last thing we need in regard to the perception of Adam's fans.

It reeks of "I am such a benevolent human for loving adam when so many others have cast him aside". I can't deny that Niles had done a lot for adam, however, he is anything but humble about it. Or about anything. This industry seems all about self promotion. backhanded compliments run amuck. I don't get that impression from Niles at all. In fact I get the opposite impression.

I would say that ClebMix is to some degree click baiting since the very next day they posted this: celebmix.com/adam-lambert-the-first-openly-gay-artist-to-pave-the-road-for-lgbtq-artists-around-the-worldThen they decided to complain. Layers folks layers

It takes time to be a legend and Sam Smith, IMHO, is certainly not an legend ..wrong headed article. I think Adam's fans had every right to disagree. It's a right to share one's own opinion,I personally will not be silenced for my beliefs. TO celebmix, now I won't reply ,it is for clicks.I don't see Sam Smith ,like Adam, encouraging or praising other gay artists.. Sam seems very much to want to be one of the popular kids in high school..which is fine. He's a good singer with a good album.. does that make him an icon// I think the article was inaccurate and I responded and would do so again with any article I find factually wrong about any person or subject.
