Red Panda was asking recently about Adam's songs being more complicated. I missed the discussion around that because I only have so much time here and often have to skip pages (boo hoo). Anyway (and maybe someone mentioned this already) the music that Adam first chose to listen to was from Broadway musicals. Those songs have wonderful melodies and complicated lyrics with lots of wordplay and beautiful imagery. Perhaps that is an influence.

Adam had nothing to apologise for after Amas. If anything.the a audience should of apologised to him. He just came off a idol tour where women were throwing bras at him. So he thought okay this is what they want. So Amas happened. They can put you on this pedestal then bring you right bk down at anytime. Its funny I was watching the performance. Other then some very questionable vocals lol. And.the Ninja roll. I was like wheres the controversy? I think.Us has come a long way since 09. Ss I dont think needs to apologize too. He diddnt say anything harmful. Just some thing stupid haha Right! And AMAs had happened more than 6 years ago! How long time we will judge Adam for it - and for what actually? He did nothing wrong in his performance.

So, they're long black socks! Hahaha, i thought it was a black panty hose! But if he wants dark legs with that fashion in oart 1, wear the boots in part 1 and the glitter white shoes in part 3. I did actually think they could've been a pair of tights at first! Hey, Hells Angels wear tights under their jeans in the cold months, as wearing long johns is considered pussy...

He diddnt say anything harmful. Just some thing stupid haha I don't think Adam had anything to apologize for after the AMAs except for what he apologized for -- his vocals which were not his best. I also think that the net effect of the AMAs was positive for Adam -- it generate an enormous amount of press coverage and brought him a level of fame and blew away the American Idol stigma he had -- together that changed his trajectory for the better. It was net positive because he did not apologize. The people who should apologize are 1. Dr. Luke for the awful production of FYE and leaving it in Britney Spears' key. 2. the "brain trust" at 19 Entertainment and RCA who selected FYE as Adam's first single sort of (muddied up with TFM). 3. The production design team who came up with that impossible set for Adam to more through. 4. The AMA/Dick Clark Productions who promised an outrageous/shocking performance by Adam Lambert at ever commercial break. 5. The Disney/ABC execs who overreacted. And although millions watched the AMA and more watched the video of the performance, there were only 1,500 complaints -- all from one group with a political agenda. "No one" was really "shocked" by Adam's performance or the kiss. ETA: Adam's career was mangled in the beginning because he did not fit into any genre box, there was no clarity who he was as an artist. First Idol forces singers to genre hop -- Motown, Classic Rock, Rat Pack, 80's, etc. Then look at his first 3 singles -- TFM (retro power ballad), FYE (dance pop with a vintage beat and S&M themes) and WWFM (a mid-tempo ballad). The lack of clarity continued with Trespassing. It all seems to be fitting together now -- TOH is more focused and more Adam.

Sam made a foolish, immature blunder in front of millions of people. When he was informed of his error, he replied flippantly. This whole thing is a combination of Oscar follies. A young singer with an okay voice wins an Oscar for a rather vapid, meaningless song (not his fault BTW). The backlash should teach him something about himself. I'm not particularly bashing him. I'm just not interesting in him in any way. He has a boat load of Grammys, and now he has an Oscar. Go figure. I'll stick with my guy Adam, the one with the killer voice, the lovely personality, the intelligent thoughts, the quick wit, THE HUMILITY, THE KINDNESS. And the one Grammy nom that may someday accompany a much-deserved Grammy win.

Unfortunately SS admitted to writing the song in 10 minutes, however I'm not sure if he did the music, so indeed he is credited with this song and is totally responsible for this vapid piece of work. I like this song and I generally do not like SS's music. I especially like it alot more than the Skyfall song Adele wrote and sang. And Adam wrote Vodoo on the plane returning from New Orleans. And Brian May wrote WWTLF in the taxi on the way back from seeing a screening of the movie he was writing the song for. And as I remember there was 1 or more songs Freddie wrote in about 10 minutes or so, I think CLTCL was 1 of them. So I don't think the amount of time it takes to write a song is predictive of how good the song is.

Adamrocks, I met that young lady last night( glambertparty ....the picture you posted). She went to the concert with a friend, and her friend's parents were sitting right in front of us. After they met Adam at the Meet and Greet, they were so giddy! We asked them how it was, and they told us, "He's so tall, and he smells so good!" Lol. The concert was so great! My friends, who are not Glamberts, had a great time and loved the concert. That is very telling. I thought Adam sang his face off and he seemed so happy. I loved seeing him in a smaller venue. He looks like a Greek God and sings like one. I was sitting in row 21 which was about the halfway point from the stage to the exit door, and everybody around me was totally involved in what was going on, singing and clapping, dancing, etc.! It was a very diverse audience. i am also super pleased with the review from John Moser. As someone here pointed out, he is no Glambert. For him to write what he did is huge....recognizing Adam's improvement in singing style and his more sophisticated performance was accurate. It reminds me a little of the NYT review of TOH, when the reviewer said something to the effect that Adam tailored his voice to be in service to the song as opposed to Nate Reuss, who just over sang everything. There's hope for Moser yet. What at a wonderful concert experience. I have to add a DITTO to your comment. I attended my first TOHT concert with my husband who likes Adam but is not a big fan and did not GNT. He loved the concert. We had 4 other friends at the concert at my recommendation who knew very little about Adam and had never seen him live before -- they said it was one of the best concerts they ever saw. Finally, it was my first TOHT concert. I worked really hard not to learn the setlist and I have not watch any videos. I want to see the show without any preconceived notions. This was the BEST Adam Lambert concert I ever saw. He looked great, sounded better. YAY, I love to hear about the not fans liking the concert. :D Thank you both for the recaps and the great news. Much appreciated.

The mighty must fall? Makes me think how people must have been salivating at the chance to teach Adam he wasn't invincible after the AMAs, after all that was a whole performance, he knew he'd be there, much more than a modicum of preparation, it wasn't a surprise win. It did take him a month to come up with an explanation and and semi-apology that I found acceptable. Now if we say that Adam has learned from that and so Sam will too then that's fine but I'm quite sure there will be other opportunities for foot in mouth from Adam. Just this week it was fur so I guess he deserved the flak he got. Love ya but I think you want it both ways. Huh? What did Adam do wrong during the AMAs that he needed to apologize for? katycake..ok ...got your view your on that performance. It has been discussed at nauseum for years, and Discussions get no where. ....Black to white and all shades of grey on this topic, (more than 50 shades of grey!)..even within the Atop fan base. The learning curve for every human being continues throughout life.
