Finally getting myself together...I went to 3 shows..Atlantic City, Bethlehem and New Brunswick
Observations
Loved Atlantic City. The sound was wonderful, maybe 'cause it's theatre style . I went w my best friend who likes Adam but is not a rabid fan. I purposely didn't talk beforehand regarding the staging and songs, etc I wanted to hear her point of view.
I met Q3 and Dancy there chatted a bit. What I observed was there was quite a few more men w spouses. The main front turned around to us and asked "Why is Adam not more popular in the US?" There were about 4 couples who engaged in the convo. His conclusion. US is still homophonic as He stated Adam has the best voice he's ever heard!
My girlfriend thought the show was fantastic. Loved the staging and thought Adam has grown leaps and bounds. She was not impressed w Alex. Thought the whipping of the hair was so distracting and juvenile.
I thought the keyboard and drums quite often drowned his voice. I met him after the intermission and talked to him. He's so tall (yes he did have heels on but is still quite tall) Adorable and made no qualms about being gay. Gotta love him.
My thoughts,,,I could have stayed there forever. He leaves you wanting more. pssst thank heavens he lost those stripey socks.
Bethlehem
I was on the floor 1/2 way back Thank heavens for the jumbo trams. While waiting for Adam, I talked to a married couple, 50's , male. We talked a lot about music. They both loved Barry Manilow. ohhh I thought this should be interesting.
Behind me was a mom who braved bringing 6 tweenies. As soon as I turned around, I instructed them " I better hear you scream' They responded. We will. A few never seen Adam. I have no idea if they indeed screamed as I was very vocal myself. Imagine that
After the show, I asked the married couple. The one responded "I love it and he (pointing to his spouse) liked it and that's saying a lot"! Both stood the whole time. Of course the tweenies were so hyped and so cute. still screaming as we exited the show
This event was my least favorite as I thought the sound was very like gymnasium like Sound reverberated off the ceiling. But again, he is just mesmerizing. The only disappointing thing was the jumbo troms...They most of the time showed the upper body so I missed the kneels when he did his subtle thrusts. Oh well. I will say he looks so good.
I finally met the Talc Girls. Just neat to put the faces w the names.
There was a young girl w a extremely funky outfit w fishnets and a painted face and a halloween get up It took me a while to figure out that it was the Rocky Horror Show She also was at New Brunswick w a different costume. This time more extreme painted white face. But I again recognize the Rocky theme. She was again in the front young Which was good as her groups just screamed and danced and gave energy back to Adam
New Brunwick
Love the theater style as again I think the sound is so much better.
Being directed to my seat, The women told me that "every single seat was sold out. All 1,600' !" that's a quote.
Less young kids at this event. The row in front of me was interesting.
A couple in her 50's This was their 1st concert!!! She is a member of State Threater. She knew of Adam and said she loved his voice and hopes he sings "Tracks of My tears'. I guess her husband was a tag along. Interesting. He stood up as Adam made the grand entrance but as soon as the sange EITN, he sat sound and closed his eyes. 2 set - he gradually sporadically opened his eyes - appeared to be watching. He came alive when TOH began He was hooping and nodding. He liked TOH
By the finally, we was clapping! She loved the show (didn't know his songs but screamed and he said he was great)
Now the other couple to the left was quite older - maybe mid 70's She was a Glambert. He sat most of the time and slept. How can one sleep thru that loud music?
too funny
Lastly, I had a young 20's two girls next to me They knew of Alex and loved him and of course loved Adam. They left the seats and spent the whole time in the aisle up front bouncing and singing and cheering. so cool I'm sure Adam felt the love as these two were on moom bounce especially when he sang IIHY I swear this hit the ceiling. loved it. The ones behind me not so much but the spirit was there.
I spent enough at the booth for him to put a helicopter pad on his LA home!
all is good
All in all No one can match his voice. just outstanding.
