I love her line, "It literally sounds expensive." So right. So true.

Every Millennial wedding I have been to in the past 3 years has been black tie requested. They are back! Millennial here - I've never been to a black-tie wedding nor heard of any friend/acquaintance having one. I honestly don't know anyone who would have that type of dress code for their wedding, then again, most of my friends are hipsters, hippies, or just too down-to-earth for that type of wedding. (I'm not saying I begrudge anyone to spend that type of $ on their wedding. It's their $, their special day. I just don't know anyone who has.) Well I wish I could get my family and friends to stop having black tie, formal weddings AND to stop having destination weddings. It gets really expensive for everyone! ETA: However, not everyone abides by the dress code. And I happen to like to dress up. So OK with me personally.

Yeah, it really kind of alienates those who would like to attend but just can't shell out the $ for it. I'm glad I've never been put in the position to have to either brake the bank or not attend. Most of my friends (& I) are still paying off grad loan debt or student loan debt so we're all on the same page, luckily.

My hope is that after Elisse hasn't been too shy about where the wedding is that there are no gate crashers. Hopefully there were red herrings in what she posted. that would just be too sad to contemplate. But there is only one through road that goes into the area so hopefully some very good security. I seriously doubt there will be gate crashers. So Cal fans know where Adam lives and no gates have been crashed yet. This venue will be very easy to secure.

Kind of tired out here on the west coast-emotionally exhausted following all the anticipation, and finally the awesome delivery of Adam's new "baby." He and Laleh sounded beautiful together----brought Idol up to a new level once again. As he stood there singing the opening lines with his incredible voice , my husband, who can't seem to turn away or actually make that full choice to sit down right beside me whenever Adam is on the TV, stood in the background, once again,---he, "the non-committal,constant observer." As transfixed as I was by the amazing performance, I was just as taken in by Adam's all-out exuberance and JOY when the song ended. I fully realize that it's this very exhilaration that is Adam's gift to me---and dare I say, to so many all around the world. I see it with people he interacts with everywhere he goes, and I certainly see it with Brian and Roger who had a twinkle in their eyes and a curious smile, from the moment they laid eyes on him. So up there on the stage tonight, I saw a 34 year-old man who could hardly contain himself after he finished his new, surprise song----so he jumped up and down, not once, but twice---{reminded me of my little 8 year-old grandson when he is so excited that he jumps up and down because ,as he explains to me,"I feel like I'm going to burst, Grammie!"} Since season 8 on Idol, Adam has been giving this gift to me so that, even in the dark moments of life, I can put on his music, hear his "melting gold," voice, {Melinda Doolittle's apt description} and somehow the world seems beautiful and right again. Thank you dearest,Adam. You are my ODE to JOY....... Oh my, Lorraine, your words just made me cry. You are so right -- his joy as he was singing was almost more wonderful than listening to him sing and you described it perfectly. Thank you. You're welcome, Wilis. Adam's JOY is infectious.

The venue is the same one my daughter got married in almost 12 years ago. Brings back sweet memories... It is very secure----Hey, I'm wondering, maybe I should just go over and make sure everything is coming along smoothly---you know, flower deliveries, table set ups, etc. I"M KIDDING, of course!
