I have always assumed she had the basic structure and lyrics already, Adam virtually said that on the Idol stage. I am sure he had input to personalize it though, kind of like taking a good OTR suit in and having it tailored to fit perfectly. On another note, as bamafan said immediately after she heard the song the first night, WTTS is absolutely perfect for remixes. The sparse construction, repetitive lyrics, paced verses, and soaring vocals are ideal in my mind. Can't wait to hear them! ETA: LOL, or what ghost said. I am on a roll this weekend, typing while someone else says the same thing.  ....Thank you so much for crediting me for saying it would be perfect for remixes...but....'twas someone else. LOL. I know nada about remix potential. You musta had me on your mind after I stated that you were "no slow-thinker" yesterday. :D Hahaha, I found it, it was you posting terra's tweet. What inspired you to release this single? I really wanted to put out something new. My fans are so amazing. They’re so loyal and devout. They’ve digested this album twenty times already, so I just wanted to put something out that would be a surprise. I was like, "It’s gonna be spring, let’s do something anthemic and empowering." I met Laleh through [music producer] Max Martin, and she had this idea for this song. Instantly, the lyric hit me right away ‘cause I feel like it’s so direct, and it’s so honest. I feel like it’s about a lot of different kinds of things, which is interesting, you know? I think a lot of people can find meaning in it with their own life." Worded like that it sounds like an idea, a concept; maybe a single line. Other than for curiousity it really doesn't matter who wrote what, the song suits him to a T. What it does trigger though, is more fuel that this song has another purpose. He stated early on in the press release that he went to MM for HELP. Help with what? Why would he need help on a song that was not originally his concept? It's in the order. He went to MM for help and MM hooked him up with Laleh for the songwriting, then the song goes back to MM and the P guy to work on beats, instraments etc backgrounds, recording, and final production. MM might have know the hook already or just that Laleh can right anthemy lyrics. Adam probably gave MM the reason why he wanted a song, ie Idol etc. The overall order has always been clear, what is new is that he had no concept for the song when he went to MM in the first place. I thought, and expect many others did as well, that he had the basis for the song and went to MM for assistance in completing it. These new statements indicate he went empty handed for help. To me, bringing a totally different feel to the need for a new song. What wa so urgent that he needed a totally new immediately? Can't be just for AI. Was WBR balking at releasing anything else, is there a project underway yet to be disclosed? I don't buy the "spring song for my fans" meme. |

I pay the price but I’m grateful, You’re letting me be myself.
Adam, we wouldn’t want anything more than for you to be yourself. The root of making beautiful art is not conforming, but standing out.  I can't agree with you more. |

And I don't think the fans have over-digested x20 the songs from TOH already. He's in the middle of his world tour and the fans don't seem to be burned out IMO...not now...not yet. Come Fall....the fans will be ready for new music in 2017. Seems more like Adam is getting bored and has over-digested his already released songs. Or perhaps if he knows/knew that releasing a third single wasn't in the cards, maybe he requested a new single and they agreed to it in the new era of releasing singles. Just what iffing. But I really do hope there is some other reason/new project for WTTS. I love surprises. Time will tell. |

When will it be Adam's turn to get married????? I hope he feels so inspired by the marriage that he writes more love songs and releases them as singles!!! Hehehe My hope for Adam for the next era is that the theme is JOY!
He spent two months in the Swedish cold, dark winter and went deep - I hope he does his next era in sunny, happy So. California. And he can do just that, even if he wants to continue to work with MM, since Max has just finished a studio in LA. Adam has deep feelings, but one only has to watch the bounces after the WTTS performance on AI to see he also exudes joy. So many of us have said he and his music just make us happy. What a gift he is. I saw a gif of the bounces, but can't find it. Thanks to anyone who posts it. |

Why would he need help on a song that was not originally his concept? with multiple writers it is always the question of who wrote what? these lyrics of WTTS sounds "adamish" to me: Gonna let it show, I'm happy to Entertain and share with you It's hard to say how your own thoughts can hurt you and I know I have my flaws I've paid the price, but I'm grateful You're letting me be myself The good and the bad but i don't know if he actually wrote that lyric or Laleh did. |

Spotify update on WTTS!The amount of countries were it is in the Top 200 dropped some, but still going great: #57 Finland 16,804 #168 Norway 9,418 #194 Sweden 16,288 These countries are responsible for 42,510 of the streams yesterday. Total increase today is 144,466 to 403,629 streams!  For the first days these seem to me great numbers. As it's not being played that often on radio this is all from the first buzz and fans streaming. So please continue to stream! GT in the meantime made it to 120 million streams today!  GT has been very stable at around 155k streams / day the last couple of days.
