Some ALN news: Pürzelschnörz @liveyoung31 Adam's "Another Lonely Night" is featured on a #dance CD called...wait for it...#dance For anyone who thinks ALN is "dead" -- it is not. It is a US club hit. I went to a dance club on Friday night and it was played 2x using 2 different remixes. "Everyone" in the packed club knew it. I asked the DJ if it was a request or not. He said it was his pick the first time, then he got a lot of requests to play it again.

The overall order has always been clear, what is new is that he had no concept for the song when he went to MM in the first place. I thought, and expect many others did as well, that he had the basis for the song and went to MM for assistance in completing it. These new statements indicate he went empty handed for help. To me, bringing a totally different feel to the need for a new song. What wa so urgent that he needed a totally new immediately? Can't be just for AI. Was WBR balking at releasing anything else, is there a project underway yet to be disclosed? I don't buy the "spring song for my fans" meme. I don't think it's that complicated. After having a hit, GT, I am sure his team wanted to follow-up with a successful single. Radio will play him if they like the song. They probably decided that there were no other viable singles on TOH. What would he sing on AI? They wanted a stand-alone single to debut on Idol and then give to radio to, hopefully, capitalize on the success GT had. I really don't think it's that complicated. I also don't see why people think there is some "bigger picture" than just the song. They needed a single and didn't have one. Yeah, but I guess I'm confused as to how I would imagine they thought they had more than two singles off of TOH less than a year ago when the album was released or I would think they would have gone in a different direction on some of the songs. No one would put out MM level of money without the hope that they would be able to recoup, IMO. What changed in just 9 months since last June's album release to make everything else on TOH just album cuts and not single-worthy? I mean, I remember Adam saying in some interview something along the lines that there were several potential singles on the album. I'm not complaining in the least: I LOVE WWTTS. If not complicated, it's still certainly puzzling to me how things could have changed so quickly.

this? "Your latest album "The Original High" was released in summer 2015, but you've just debuted a brand new song, "Welcome to The Show", which is not associated with any upcoming studio LP. What inspired you to release this single? I really wanted to put out something new. My fans are so amazing. They’re so loyal and devout. They’ve digested this album twenty times already, so I just wanted to put something out that would be a surprise. I was like, "It’s gonna be spring, let’s do something anthemic and empowering." I met Laleh through [music producer] Max Martin, and she had this idea for this song. Instantly, the lyric hit me right away ‘cause I feel like it’s so direct, and it’s so honest. I feel like it’s about a lot of different kinds of things, which is interesting, you know? I think a lot of people can find meaning in it with their own life." Worded like that it sounds like an idea, a concept; maybe a single line. Other than for curiousity it really doesn't matter who wrote what, the song suits him to a T. What it does trigger though, is more fuel that this song has another purpose. He stated early on in the press release that he went to MM for HELP. Help with what? Why would he need help on a song that was not originally his concept? Help could be as simple as needing a producer. But I do agree, I don't think we know the whole story. On writing credits: we have not seen the writing credits for WTTS yet, but since it is connected to royalties it does matter. Leleh, Adam, Max Martin and Ali Payami could all have writing credits. Odd to release a song with no credits. Might just be because it was so fast.

GT is not comparable because it was free with the album -- and people bought a lot of albums which cut into iTunes position. WTTS has sold a few thousand units so far -- which is great.
