So Sony starts to break apart Barry's RCA/Jive consolidation and Barry starts to replicate it with Island Def Jam/Motown. Round and round nothing seems to change except that a lot of people will be out of work.

Round and round nothing seems to change except that a lot of people will be out of work. Now my questions would be... If what Barry's done in Sony RCA/Jive didn't really work .. is it going to work in UMG?? I'd ask the same question to Reid with Sony.. ;D

I took that as him saying there is no guarantee (obviously) and that being the winner Idol is not enough in the grand scheme of things. Sure, it's a platform, but after that, it takes a ton of work and luck AND you have to be "amazing at your craft." All true. It just reiterates how unique Adam's success is.

Love the new pics! He looks great! Between boots and hair, and already being tall, he makes Alisan look so tiny - and she is even wearing boots. His friends are all going to have to get really tall boots so when they go out with him they will at least come up to his shoulder! LOL
I agree with mys*&@^#r's comment from last night that even if one didn't know who he was, and even if paps weren't following him from a restaurant to his car, a passerby would definitely wonder Wow! who is that guy?!

No need to hide but that line is taken a bit out of context. Here is the context and Kris was referring to himself and his lack of success. An “American Idol” champion who hasn’t exactly conquered the pop charts, Kris Allen expressed not a hint of disappointment in a recent interview.
“It’s an opportunity,” Allen said about winning season eight of “Idol,” in a surprise victory over the flashier crowd favorite Adam Lambert. “No one’s promised immediate worldwide success. You have to put the effort in and be amazing at your craft. I’ve learned a lot over the past couple years.”The competition between Adam and Kris is really over. And, as many predicted in May 2009, Kris have become most famous as the guy who beat Adam Lambert. Thankfully he had one hit single -- LLWD -- because otherwise it would be more brutal for him. Setting that aside, although Adam has achieved international success, Adam is still not a mainstream global pop star. Hopefully he will break through to that level with this album. I think he has a real shot and has built a real platform for success. That is a tribute to Adam's talent, Idol's international reach and to Sony's investment in Adam internationally.

I have a hard time being upset about the level of success Adam has reached, even though it may not match Katy's or Gaga's, because he seems so happy, so fulfilled, and so excited about what the future holds for him. He wanted to secure a place for himself and I hope he thinks he has.
By the way, I didn't know Kris and his wife had a baby. That's nice. I really like Kris, even more so when I re-watch AI videos, I just never follow him AT ALL. Keeping track of Adam is enough for me.
Does he have a daughter?
