Q. You’re a married dad. Is it hard to be away from home so much?
A. Definitely. This is the longest I’ve been home in awhile. I kind of get to be a regular person for over a week — cook dinner, hang with my daughter and my wife. This weekend we’re going up to the lake for the first time in three years.
This is what it said !

I have a hard time being upset about the level of success Adam has reached, even though it may not match Katy's or Gaga's, because he seems so happy, so fulfilled, and so excited about what the future holds for him. He wanted to secure a place for himself and I hope he thinks he has. By the way, I didn't know Kris and his wife had a baby. That's nice. I really like Kris, even more so when I re-watch AI videos, I just never follow him AT ALL. Keeping track of Adam is enough for me. I can't imagine how anyone could be upset about Adam's level of success. He has done so well -- and he has built so much good will within the industry. But I guess some Adam fans do not realize how successful he really is -- and that success is about way more than number of albums/tracks sold. OT but --- As far as I know, Kris and Katy have not had a baby. ETA: How did I miss Kris having a baby? ETA #2: "Kris and Katy's New Child" -- in December 2010 was their dog: krisallenaddicts.blogspot.com/2010/12/kris-and-katy-allens-new-child-pictures.htmlI do not believe they have a child.

I might be wrong though ,I dont follow them or their news.

Question: Is it better that Adam wasn't an "instant" superstar after idol. He came off the show strong and has steadily built, much like a new artist. Does this help with Adam's longevity? Does this earn him more respect in the industry? So many idols sell big right off the show and then disappear.

iTunes Top 1000 ---- right now: 1019. Whataya Want from Me – Adam Lambert Not that could be 12 copies but it might just creep back into the Top 1000 Tracks. It already did. It's at #956. 956. Whataya Want from Me - Adam Lambert Saturday, June 18, 2011 12:07 PM Surprising to me that TLG hasn't made the top 1000 after being on the VH1 countdown this morning and its been shown twice already.

Is there a reason the WWFM is moving up? (And yes, the number I posted was old, but it have been moving up all morning.) I am totally puzzled by the lack of sales for Cook. Amazon reduced the price of his CD to $9.99 and it is only #77 Amazon Bestsellers List -- and release is in 10 days. Only a few Idol alums have been able to build sales/fame after their debut album. Most have dropped. I think the three exceptions are Kelly, Carrie and Jenifer Hudson. One could argue that Daughtry is pretty stable -- but most have gone down rapidly. It will be interesting to see what will happen for Cook but it is not looking very good right now. I think Adam is in a different position than anyone from Idol. He was successful in the US and released the #29 new album of 2010 (Billboard year Oct 2009-Sept 2010) -- so really quite good. And he also did well in a lot of different countries and had a very successful worldwide tour -- headlining. But I think he is very likely to do better with his next album. And the only other Idol to do that was Kelly in 2004. We'll see -- Idol alum or not -- very few #2 albums are matching the sales of debut albums right now. The market just keeps shrinking and shrinking.

Does this earn him more respect in the industry? So many idols sell big right off the show and then disappear. IMO, a clear, steady climb is ideal. It seems one of the big backlashes against Idol – within the industry and in genres that respect "cred" – is that Idols have not earned their success. Some are going to scorn regardless of what kind of dues was paid prior to the show and how much work they did after. Adam establishing himself as not only an incredible talent, but a hard-working visionary and risk-taker who knows music and the music industry bodes very well for him. As Q3 said, building that reputation within the industry is a very good thing, especially with these companies completely changing personnel right now. As with any regime change, no one is safe. However, these people are going to identify their A-team first and I have a hard time envisioning any scenario where an executive wouldn't come in and slide him right to the Definite Keeper pile. And also, the people who might have scorned because people will get over the AI backlash and feel he has now "earned" his success. I've always thought if he shot out of a cannon with the first album, it would come with a lot of risk, as that type of success often does.
