Ya know, sometimes a BBQ is just a BBQ.... The coming correct is a way of say "it is off the hook" (so i'm told). It's all good From the rap dictionary come correctverb come correct To represent the real, to do something the way it should be done. "When I'm on the mic, I come correct" -- Beastie Boys (Sure shot [1994]) "Every day they don't never come correct" - Public Enemy (911 Is A Joke [1990])

After reading the meaning of "coming correct," I interpreted the tweet as meaning "The barbecue's gonna be great!" and then Alisan thanked him for agreeing to host it. I don't think they're at the barbecue right now. I could be wrong.

I have hear the expression "come correct" but never heard "coming correct" before. Is that a West Coast variation? I don't think so. I hear it all the time here in the south. I'm surprised that it's not a well known phrase. It's pretty standard ebonics. I've never, ever heard the term, but L.A. is much more of a melting pot than where I live, so you pick up on all kinds of other regional terms there. "This BBQ" means it's happening right now, IMO. I totally think they were tweeting each other from the same party. I've done it many times; it's just being fun and goofy. LOL, NoAngel, Anthrogeek and I did it several times last summer.

I think Adam and Alisan are just having fun playing with the fans.

I think Adam and Alisan are just having fun playing with the fans. Seems like that might be a good guess -- At least Adam is playing a bit.

This conversation on black slang reminds me of the first date I went on with my husband. I had recently moved to Houston from Lousiana. I didn't know a lot of slang. It wasn't spoken much in my home and four years in college around engineering geeks did not expand my slang knowledge. On our first date, he would say something and I had no idea what he was talking about. It provided a lot of laughs, but I eventually caught on.
What is funny now is that I know more slang than he does.
