Totally OT, but if anybody is interested in Janis Joplin, PBS has a movie/documentary up online that's almost 2 hrs long of her short life. It's an American Masters special that was aired a few weeks ago. After May 31st it will be pulled and then sold as a DVD. I loved Janis back when I was in college. I enjoyed watching this, even tho I knew it would be sad. Anyway, I recommend it if you have a spare 1hr 45 minutes. www.pbs.org/wnet/americanmasters/janis-joplin-watch-full-film/7272/Thanks for the link, bamafan...I will watch it. Janis's Pearl album is the first I can truly claim to have literally WORN out....then replaced with cassette...then with cd! I used to sit cross-leeged on a huge orange cushion, singing along to Cry Baby till I had little voice left...then I would head into Bobby Macgee and for fun, Mercedeez Benz...complete with giggle... I watched that PBS movie a few weeks ago. It was very good. I have always been a fan of Janis Joplin. My favorite song of hers is Piece of My Heart. She was a fantastic, original bluesy rocker with a raspy voice that still hit every note. She wowed audiences everywhere. It's so sad that she got involved with drugs. She didn't appear to have committed suicide. She was actually looking forward to a good future and to reconnect with a boyfriend who she loved. It was an accidental overdose. She was a real phenomenon. If you have a chance to see the film, do it. It's really good.

And the man that wears it too Cologne, here I come!! Yes! Loved that day and the complete weekend! Such good memories! Are you still feeling a bit ill Nic? Cologne is in 4 days already!!!!! Squee!! Got my hotel booked, now thinking about what to wear in partly sunny Cologne on Friday!

Oh! Alisan's two iTunes recordings are wonderful! LOL I am sitting on my hands here...can not d/l until after the show or it won't count towards her vote. I like the duet because it is restrained and Christina usually goes full throttle. Alisan is singing a duet with Jennifer Nettles, too. Two great voices.

I think this tweet pretty well describes things so far - with much more to come;

@adamlambert Stadium voice, feathers, tight pants, that flamboyant-macho thing you own. Finding myself flung back into euphoria. Thank you!

adamrocks.....I thought you especially might like to watch Janis.... After watching the movie, I went down the Youtube rabbithole....altho sadly there aren't that many performances on Youtube....and saw her telling Dick Cavett that her favorite singer was Tina Turner....and Dick looked like who the heck is that. lol This was in 1969 Really short clip I had to go take my son back to work and just got here and saw your post. I went down the rabbit hole way back and watched a lot of these videos. She was surprisingly, to me, soft spoken when not on stage. I remember this short vid when she talked about Tina Turner...made me love her even more!
